-Who knows? -Yeah, tell me about it.

-No, I am asking you: Who knows? -Well, I am pretty sure somebody knows.

-But you don't? -Well, I could tell you but you would have to be my confession priest and I don't think I've ever seen you in a robe.

-Come on, we've known each other practically our whole lifes. -Considering that you are me,I think that is pretty obvious.

-So, you won't tell me? -No.

-But it's possible? -You are starting to sound like the people on the 3DR forums...or the ones sending me email and asking these questions...

-Come on, level with me. It's not like there's anyone else here to hear about it. Is it possible? -You better be silent now, or I am going to have to start medicating myself again...

I’m wondering if it'll be possible to apply physics to dynamic objects in the newest version of MaxEd.

But it looks like I'll have to wait till the game’s out to find the answer.

Whatever happens to MaxED I hope a lot more people use it. The mod community for maxpayne was pretty disappointing overall. With a few exceptions (i.e. kung fu mod, hitman mod, any others I forgot) most promising mods either didn't get completed or were yet another lobby shootout.

I think remedy should help the modders a bit more just as valve helps its modders. But then again, what do I know.

@pmikhail: trust me, remedy does help the modders a lot, only not as obvious as others. not only are the maxed tutorials superior imho, but also you can always expect to get a friendly answer if you ask them through email (personal experience + hearsay).

the biggest problem lies in the nature of max payne being a single player game. the time it comes out it can certainly compete to multiplayer games in terms of community size. but once the people have beat it, say twice, they start leaving again.
what remains is only a very small bunch of hardcore fans that are willing to spend their spare time mapping or modding, especially compared to multiplayer games.

But i do think, as long as we get provided with tools again this time (*crossing fingers*), that theres more to come. the weakest part so far has been maps. there's tons of small (and bigger) gameplay tweaks but only very few good maps that are worth being played, and that add to a mod. i think this was based on the fact that getting into maxed takes a big amount of time (im talking about 6-12 moths, for getting into it really well).

so this time if we should really get modding tools again (*prays*), theres already a bunch of people who can start with higher quality maps and more mapping speed right away.

i personally do fear the increased amount of detail though. creating well datailled max payne 1 maps takes too much time already. also there is only very few mappers that actually care about adding detail to their maps. so we'll have to wait and see if max payne 2 mapping is possible for the general amateur mapper, without looking too poor and underdetailled within a decent amount of time.

you are right thehunted, on all counts. I was thinking of the single player vs multiplayer issue. If I use Half Life as an example again, there are nowhere near the number of quality single player mods.

I know practically nothing about modding but I think it is important that users like myself play our part in evolving the modding community by not slandering against a persons work just because it doesn't match up to remedy's efforts. We need to encourage the guys who put the time in to give us these mods and appreciate how difficult it is.

I meant no disrepect to Remedy's assistance of modders but I just hope we get some cool, original mods with MP2
