The girl. Why? Consider.......
A lot of people are arguing that there really cannot be a MP3 if Mona lives and the two of them attempt some kind of sadistic love thing ( http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif). With her living and hooking up with Max, THEN , some are arguing, this will pretty much diminish the theme of the series. Which is one of a journey through darkness and despair, with gritty themes, stark realities and a lot of nasty bad types waiting to mess up Max.
However, even though he *apparently* gets the girl, things are still quite the mess at the end of MP2. A ton of dead bodies, an upperclass enclave that's been totalled, evil, sinister and malevolent crime lords are still lying about and the police find Max in the arms of a professional killer. This can't look good for Max. Wonder how he's going to explain his way out of this one?
It could be suggested that the next game will have Max trying to not only clear his reputation but also, get Mona off the hook while dealing with the fallout of the Inner Circle and the other elments of Mona's past. Think about it.
Will either camp REALLY just sit there and leave Max and Mona alone? To cuddle with each other by a fireplace, roasting marshmellows? I don't think so.
