This question may very well have been asked and answered previously somewhere in these forums but I am new here and with roughly about 2 hours a day to game if i'm lucky these days ( I'm a carpenter and tis the season...kapeesh ?) so I don't have much time to peruse your board right now. Anyway a friend of mine bought Max Payne, never liked it so I bought his copy..and...well MAX kicks ass!! I love the whole atmosphere in the game, even the storyline just pulls you in deeper. Ok so my question is can I make him walk? like every room he just barges in and I don't see an option in the setup for a walk button or run toggle on or off....... just like to be able to sorta creep up and listen you know, count voices and get an idea of the best way to go about it taking a room.......???

That's not Payne's style. He is a man with nothing to lose so he just launches himself into a room and empties his clips.

While I do agree that it really wouldn't be practical to include walking (no stealth, so no real purpose), it does add considerably to style. Imagine coolly strutting out of a room, dead bodies everywhere, twin Berettas held pointing straight up....Or slowly walking towards a thug while unloading round after round, continuing walking and firing even after he's fallen to really get your message across that he's not a likeable chap. images/icons/smile.gif

It'd also help if we're forced to do any more of that jumpy-jumpy stuff so that we don't tap a key and fall off.

I know there is a walking animation, but afaik no one knows how to modify the game so you can use it.

i got it done by using modeswitch triggers! i just replaced the crouch stuff.so i have a walking anim then at a flick of a switch i got a super burst of speed! that is a major work around but it works for me! images/icons/grin.gif images/icons/grin.gif images/icons/grin.gif
