It has began - the hype machine is on!

As some of you will already know, the NDA (Non-Disclosure Agreement) that Dennis Publishing UK/PC Zone had with Remedy et al. expired yesterday and the new issue of PC Zone was released today with a juicy 6 page preview of Max2. I've just got back from town with my copy (same cover image as Gen4PC magazine) and I'll be posting some of the more interesting details once I've had a chance to read the article in full. Until then however I'll leave you with this interesting piece of information regarding the new story and subtitle of the game (words by Dave Woods):


...According to Sam Lake, lead writer on both Max Payne and the sequel. "The script for the sequel is three times as big as the original. It's going to be a much deeper game and we're taking a big risk by putting him in a love story this time around. In the original we kept the story seperate so that you could blast through the game even if you didn't want to spend time with the graphic novel but this time around we're working hard to incorporate the story into the game."

I'm thinking either:
a). Max confessed because he felt guilty
b). He confessed because the murder was pinned on Mona (that would explain that somewhat confusing quote "Instead of shruging it off, he confesses to the murder, which sets up the whole film-noir love angle"
c). Max was charged and Woden prevented Max him from going to jail (why the blackmail tapes though?)
d). Max was charged, but cut a deal with the NYPD to return to work for them (as he was already well in with the New York crime groups)
e). He was charged but earned bonus karma for all the bad guys he bumped off....

And I work part time in a shop and have had to look at the mag in its plastic cover in the stock room for 3 days now.

Its driving me mad not being able to read it but having to walk past it for days on end.

Haha no kidding!! I think the hype machine took a little to long to be warmed up, even though we *just* got screens. Back in like, january, MPHQ had articles how gutbomb and family had visited remedy and got some very small details on the new game, but no-one paid attention to it!! None the less, this is going to be some heat on the forums... people just arent going to be able to talk it down. images/icons/tongue.gif
