Just a heads up to let people know that the official site http://www.maxpayne2.com - has been updated.
Now don't get too excited, there's still not much there yet but you will now find a few downloads:
:: 2 wallpapers (1 black, 1 white) from 640x480 up to 1600x1200
:: 2 animated buddy icons (1 black, 1 white) for use with programs such as AIM
:: A screensaver - Haven't had a chance to download it yet but my would be that this is one of those flash powered slideshow screensavers.
Thanks! I'll check it right now! images/icons/smile.gif
I've always wondered about those AIM buddy icons.. does anyone actually ever use them? Just about every site in existence offers them, but I personally don't even know anyone who uses instant messengers.

Where's the sound in the screen saver?
In the options menu you can check to have sound or not, but I can't hear anything... images/icons/frown.gif

if yes, then u know noone who uses it? hmm...
i just don't use AIM oder MSN... but icq yes... for a long time now....
I've never seen the point of instant messengers, since all my friends are on IRC, or if they're not, I can just call them. While some people need them for work related communication, I don't really see the point of that either. In all the places I've worked, it's been easier to pick up the phone and press speed dial to the person you needed to talk to.. or to just stand up from your desk and shout at them images/icons/tongue.gif

And how about answering an important question about this great game. Will the system requirements for Max Payne 2 be close to that of the original Max Payne and if not, please tell us the system requirements for Max Payne 2?

Will them telling you the requirements really make a difference yet? The game is 3 months away at least. Let's face it, it's not gonna be a MAJOR leap from what they were with Max Payne 1, probably just following the natural development that has been. An average computer should be able to play it perfectly fine.

Skaven said to not worry about the requirements somewhere in here.

doesn't the screenshots already give you an impression or anticipation of what to expect in the sequel? the game will probably be on 2 CD's and system req. is something like 1ghz and 1,5-2ghz is recommended..
I'll just link to one of the other 300 threads talking about the requirements (http://forums.3drealms.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=4;t=004167;p=1#0000 07) (mainly the one where I posted what I'm expecting them to be).

I think you can pretty much double (or 1,5x for the memory) all those values and you get today's requirements. Maybe add ,1 to the DirectX 8 one images/icons/smile.gif

My video RAM is onboard where 4 MB is dedicated video memory but the rest is shared memory. Max Payne 1 and Duke Nukem Manhatten ran smoothly despite the shortage in video memory. I hope I can hold on for Max Payne 2.
wouldn't bet on it...
it will run, but not very nice....

That shared memory might be slower but fast enough, I'm not sure how it will affect it, but there will be higher quality textures in Max Payne 2 and so on.
