View Full Version : Max Payne 2 shots not real?
as i read now in 2 german online magazines, Take 2 wanted them to take out the screenshots as they don't represent the games true graphic...
whats that about? did we get non official screenshots?? here the links to the articles:
http://www.gamestar.de/magazin/specials/pc-spiele/13077/2.html
and
http://www.gamigo.de/index.php?site=newsdetails&news_id=20337
it says that the newest shots (those that didn't look like scans) are just digital scans of magazine prints... but good news are also at the gamestar link:
there will soon be official screenshots for the online magazines...

Bow
P.S.: sorry for my crap english...
They have never said they were true screens, but simply scans...

Erm... but they are digital scans of magazine prints. What Take 2 means is that they don't want online magazines to present scans of magazine screenshots as a normal Max Payne 2 screenshot as you'd get it represented online. Because the one you'd get represented online will look much better and be higher resolution and all. It's obvious that a magazine scan doesn't have the same quality and therefore can't be presented as such.

so the screens weren't fakes and you and take2 don't want that they are published on the internet or are they fakes? images/icons/confused.gif
They arn't fakes but Take 2 don't want people to be thinking that that's the quality of the actual game judged on magazine scans.

Take 2 doesn't want online news magazines to present the scans as normal screenshots, when they are indeed scans of a printed magazine. This because screenshots which will be given to online sites will have a much better quality, and they want everyone to know how good the game actually looks.

I have a solution to this problem then. It will satasfy everyone.
Take 2 and Remedy should just release some screenshots to the internet. Or they could give them to me and I could post them on Deep Six.

Not to mention that magazine probably don't like that people scan their "exclusives" (or any material for that matter) and put it on the web.

heres a translated quote of Take2's message to gamigo.de and gamestar.de
"The scans of the screenshots that are currently spreading across the internet, can't represent the quality of Max Payne 2's graphics and are giving a wrong impression to the viewers. There will be high-res Screenshots, also for online mags, the next time, that we are trying to provide as soon as possible."
"as soon as possible" sounds good to me images/icons/smile.gif

They could just put those pics on the web now, to prevent any "confusion". I dont think they will wait much longer.

-Maniac <font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">Nice try buddy! images/icons/grin.gif Isn't gonna happen though. They they don't plan on releasing media on the web as well as giving interviews/scoops to websites until late next month, when the magazines have had their day and the www.maxpayne2.com (http://www.maxpayne2.com) official website gets updated.
