Hi, everyone! Just for fun, I'm thinking of recording a bunch of songs for myself, and making a max payne soundtrack. Any suggestions?
Here's a suggestion: the music that's in Max Payne.

Record the song "Bodies" from Drowning pool or whatever. LOL That was in a good Max Payne fanfiction I read and it seemed to go along with the story. So I'm sure it would go along with the game. LOL I don't like that song or nothing I just thought I would help you out since no one else did.

Also for the soundtrack I would record songs that hype you up when playing the game. Maybe like club music or something. Sometimes when I listen to certain music when playing a game I start to kck @ss!! Its the best.
I think club music would make me defenestrate the CD along with the CD-player.

Dirty Harry theme (throughout), Knight Rider theme (for the bit where Max is undercover), Enter The Dragon theme (especially when playing the Kung Fu mod thingy), The Good - The Bad & The Ugly theme (Morricone original, not that awful cover done by Montenegro - and why? Just because! And that's that!!!).
Oh and The Crazy World of Arthur Brown - Fire (for that escape the diner level), Stayin' Alive for the final parts of the game, 24's closing theme with timer - for guess what - the end credits! Plus j's suggestion. The latter suggestion probably the best one.
You might like to add Carl Douglas - Kung Fu Fighting and Can You Feel The Force? by The Real Thing. But perhaps the Star Wars fan would like that better (*wink wink nudge nudge* to Joey Joe Joe Junior Shabadoh the 70s music lubber like me)...

Yickle.

I personally love the song that plays when you are outnumbered in a fight. For example, in the Land of the Blind, at the exit of the level.

Sorry, but aside from the Max Payne "theme" the music SUCKED. Yeah, that's right. You heard me. It was some of the most forgettable guitar twanging BS i've ever heard. I really REALLY hope Remedy will hire a better musician. Rom Di Prisco (Need For Speed: High Stakes, Rune, Blair Witch) would be infinitely better than some guy from a band...

Unfortunately, I have to agree with Bushido. None of the music in Max Payne did it for me except the main theme. That one that plays when you open Rico Muerte's door is especially bad.
If you make a soundtrack, it's GOTTA have Spybreak by the Propellerheads; that was used somewhere in pretty much every Matrix mod ever made. I don't think I'll ever hear that song again without thinking of Max Payne.
The music never bothered me. None of it was highly memorable, but I wouldn't say it sucked. It got the job done well enough, atleast for me.

I love the main theme and the music that plays whenever a graphic novel pops up (the deep, ominous sounding first note sets me on edge). The rest wasn't horrible, but that cheesy fade-in rock stuff when you fight certain battles (I think it's that 'outnumbered' thing mentioned above) made me wince each time I heared it. That, and hearing "hey-ah" from almost every bad guy...
