View Full Version : Vintage Payne: Looking for old E3 videos

I think it's interesting to see how a game develops over time. I remember watching every E3 video of Max Payne when they came out. However, shortly after getting the game, I deleted them. I figured I wouldn't want them anymore, now that I had the actual game. Obviously I underestimated their nostalgic value.

I have high quality versions of the 2000 and 2001 E3 movies. However, after searching Google, I could only find a small Quicktime version of the 1999 trailer, and all of the various links to the 1998 movie are dead. Does anyone know where to get the high quality .avi versions of the 1998 and 1999 movies?

I have them on cds somewhere, but really can't be arsed in finding them, not at this moment anyway. And Remedy doesn't like looking back, so no hopes there. Maybe Joe could dig it back up though?! images/icons/smile.gif

What do you mean "Remedy doesn't like looking back"? Hey, in many cases we have given you guys the old screenshots... images/icons/smile.gif

Personally, I find it fascinating to look at the development, as well. I don't think too many games have shown as much old stuff as we have. Then again, I think Max's development time was a bit over the average, so I guess we had much to show. images/icons/wink.gif

I'm making a mini-article about Max's story now, for PayneReactor's release, but I've asked Petri many times for old pics (the oldest are those of the big guy in the garage) and he's just cringed and screamed (well maybe not screamed) in fear of them getting out images/icons/smile.gif

Naahhh...Petri is just like that images/icons/smile.gif Truth is that I don't think there are many old pics left that haven't been published already. We haven't saved that much old stuff, unfortunately.

hehe, shame, well I hope there's enough to make him cringe images/icons/tongue.gif

i miss the old screenshots of levels, there was one level that had a finnish and american flags hanging on the wall.

i do have the 98 and 99 videos on my HD and i might upload them to net but i don't want too much traffic to my site so i'll send the link to in a private message. (if no one finds a working link to them before that)

Max Heat, Dark Justice, SOOO shabby images/icons/grin.gif Although Dark Justice is better. Gotta check if I included the Max Heat name in my lil Max Payne history.

Can't we get ONE picture of Max from that time? Hehe, I bet it looks so ****in bad... or does he look like in 98?

ACK! I used to have a screen capture of the title screen - I can't locate it. I also just tried installing the old Max Heat CD, it doesn't run anymore. images/icons/frown.gif

Damn, that would have rocked for my little history. Well blah. Remedy must remember that history creates the future, hehe... Don't forget that you've sucked once, you didn't start out as geniuses images/icons/tongue.gif

I probably still have the title screen thingie, I just can't find it. I wanted to post it awhile back, but Remedy didn't want to. Don't know if that's still the case or not.

Problem is I have thousands and thousands of images on my HD. Can't easily find the thing at the moment.

Do a search by date, will narrow it down to some thousands probably images/icons/grin.gif

Doesn't surprise me that Remedy didn't want to, been there tried that, hehe...
