Hi I have never even thought of making a mod in my life but for some reason I decided to make one now.
I have D/L the modding package from rockstar and the tutoriol and it all went straight over my head. I am not computer illiterate but i do get a bit confused with code and all these graphics design programs.
So I just need help in getting started. I have a great idea but i need to put it into play. The mod i want to do includes making up some new moves for max and some new weapons. So please help me!!!!!!

Just take it slow man. You can't just rush into things, especially being a newb. Number one, you can't make new moves for Max yet because Remedy has not released the skeletal models yet. And number two, read the tutorials again....nice and slow...and just do it step by step. I never programmed a day in my life and I felt like you are right now. Just give it some time. http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/love.gif

hey hey, just like me.
How i did it was by studying various files, first easy things like skins, then i moved onto global config, and now onto skins.txt and skelentons.txt..
Start off simple then start to elaborate, thats what im doing. BTW, Read Kipstas tuts, theyre put in a nice simple way, (kinda like them CGP revision books).
For example, after not reading a tutorial and a blast of inspiration i started work on my celshaded mod, origionaly just a skin mod, it now has skin items, weapons and other stuff thanks to the help of people on here.
One hellva long post, i think im rambling now...
but it just goes to show people who dont know Jack about modding/code and all that crazy Shieet can still make moderately good things.
BTW, playing a mod is so much better when its your own. http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
