I agree DB. Why ruin a great gaming experience by not taking the time to enjoy it. I think MP is a tactical game. Look at each encounter, choose your weapon, roll here and bullet time there. For me the hours disappeared after fighting only a few battles. There is way more than just a few battles in this game.
Peace

RPGs are for taking time to play. FPS is for breaks. Some fast action you can breeze through. images/icons/tongue.gif

I too have a job. A very demanding one as it happens, which is why I play computer games, to relieve stress. I am the author of the "four days from start to finish" thread and believe me I was at work that week as well. I'm sorry, but as graphically stunning as this game undoubtedly is, in terms of gameplay it is very dissappointing.
Since completing the game I have not touched it except to have a brief look at the unfortunately second rate mods that have so far been developed.
Before anybody comes back with "well you do better then" I know very well that I couldn't. Critics are rarely able to perform to the same level of ability as those that they criticise. They do however have an understanding of quality. I also appreciate that these are early attempts by people who are learning their craft. I wish them well and hope that they produce better mods in the future. That is without doubt what the game will need if it is to survive as anything more than a five minute wonder.
I think that the problem may be that I have already been spoilt this year by a game that is far superior to Max - Severance, Blade of Darkness. BoD has far greater replay value and a number of high quality mods have already been developed for the game.
Sorry that my previous post has upset the fanboy contingent here. Don't suppose this one will win me many supporters either. Oh well!

Uhm some poeple are actually good enough to beat the game in only a day or 2 and still enjoy it, I beat it in 2 days the first time I played it, and I loved every minute of it.

I set aside a long weekend and played non-stop, not because it was a race, but because it was addictive, and not really that hard.
Then I played it again images/icons/grin.gif
Muhahahahahahaha...
Uhh, just ignore that last bit images/icons/wink.gif

marcusparcus I'm doing fine bro! How's life in the fast lane? images/icons/grin.gif
I don't think playing games fast makes you a better player. I remember when Diablo 2 first came out and players where racing to finish the game first. The whole trick was passing everything up and finishing only what you needed to move to the next level.
Four hrs to finish Max Payne I just don't think it's possible(imho). 12 Hrs could do it but I wouldn't know. I played the different areas over and over until I was happy with the outcome, so it took me about 30hrs to finish the game. Can't wait for the xpac!! Or MP2! I'll get Return To Castle Wolfenstein to keep busy! images/icons/grin.gif
