...for those that don't know, I work in a bookshop...
So anyway, I was shelving some of the new stock that arrived today, and what should I see but a book with Max on the cover images/icons/shocked.gif . Naturally I just had to see what the book was about, so I snuck it over to the counter to have a shufti under the pretext of looking for something for a customer.
The book is called "Game Art" (http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/0007165765/qid%3D1060199286/026-5755027-9882868) and is published by Collins. It covers all kinds of recent games and gives info about how the art and effects were created images/icons/smile.gif
It wasn't to difficult to find the part about Max Payne, in a chapter called "Mirrors Are Better Than Television". Lots of nice pictures, background info and an interview with Sam Lake. I'll have to have a better read of it another time.
