Hi, everyone. I thought I would start a thread for my current MP2 project. So here it is.

Firstly, I thought I'd get some feedback on this.

Imho, the light source in the middle is too bright (too large?), and it's too dark in the back of the corridor.
And you should add ai nodes in the corridor.
Anyway, nice start.

I'll add some AI nodes too.

Also the scale was kinda bad but this is just going to be the opening cinematic.

By the way, like the look of your prefabs.

Add an invisible light source with a dark color and few intensity to light the back of the corridor (a thin mesh in the middle of the room just like in the recent prefabs room from Ghast). Also look in the recent "Lighting" thread for the light mesh properties.

This is the main character, Juan Murtenza.

(He's in the prison area for demo only).

I think I might give him sunglasses.

I've bought Milkshape3D so I can actually make models now (potentially). Rather than just reskin other models.

i'd outline the "juan murtenza, traids, mafioso's etc" text in black, it'll smarten it up a little http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif. Also you know that max payne 2 needs 1024*512 menus that're resized to monitor resolution (1024*768), right?

Nope. Mafiosi is also acceptable.

Mafia = group (Italian for Hostilaty to the law)
Mafioso = a member of the mafia
Mafiosi or mafiosos = more than one member of the mafia.

Therefore we are both correct. (Except you are incorrect to say that I am incorrect).

that's cool. the art looks good, its just... a little odd. I have never heard anyone refer to mafia members as "mafiosi" even though it does make sense gramatically.

Just a SUGGESTION you dont have to if you dont want to, but I would suggest you change it to the more universally understood "Mafiosos" just because it sounds better.

Either way it looks groin-grabbingly sweet.

Actually "Mafioso" or "Mafiosos" is the correct spelling. The word mafioso is not an english word, therefore normal english grammar rules don't apply to it. I believe the word is either Italian or Spanish... therefore mafioso would be the correct way to say it in it's original language. Anything else would just be americanizing it (more than it has been already).

Initially, the word came from the italian word mafioso, which, when pluralized in Italian, becomes mafiosi. The modernization of the term has resulted in an alternate spelling which is also acceptable, mafiosos.

So,

They are mafiosi
You are a mafioso-- tu sei un mafioso
He is not a mafioso -- non che un mafioso
