Havok2 to be exact. There are a bunch of threads on this, I reccomend you read those. They cover pretty much everything.

It is alot more advanced the the physics engine in Hitman. So you won't get enemies in unrealistics positions often, maybe once in awhile.

in my honest opinion death animations would be most realistic and good looking if they were a combination of hand made animation and realtime physics for say. you shoot a guy with a shotgun in the stomach and he flyes backwards but he would also be equipped with realtime physics. so his arm hits a wall or something makinf him flip around and stuff.
hitman 2 deaths were just unrealistic if you shoot someone they do not turn into jelly people that flip around and shit. they should be more stiff.
It all depends how it's configured though Jokke_r, put enough restraints in and you could get them looking pretty realistic.

The first Hitman's physics were ludicrous! Shooting someone will not break every bone in his body. Half the time, they'd fall and their knees would bend the wrong way. images/icons/tongue.gif

hitman was the first game i ever played with ragdoll, at the time it was pretty amazing, but now max payne 2 will blow hitman's physics away

Ya. Doom3 even has physics for how sound bounces off walls/objects and how you would hear it based on the facial structure of the character model. One more tidbit about Doom before I get kicked off for not talking about MP2: In multiplayer, when you die, you don't just fall over. Oh no, instead, as you fall over, your body deconstructs itself "HollowMan" style. But I think it stops once it reaches the skeleton.

Doom3 is overated.
MP2 has a basis a reason and a drving force.
Doom3's purpose is te make u puke at all the gross blood soaked monsters.

doom 3 to me looks like a remake of doom 1 only with way better graphics, physics and story.

I just hope it is not as bad as Unreal II.

Guys, let's not let this turn into a Doom III versus Unreal II versus Max Payne 2 argument. There are other forums out there reserved for that.

I wonder how people on these forums can make those accurate comparisons between games that arn't even finished or released yet.

I needed another DooM, and I'm just happy I can look forward to the second sequel to one of the best selling DOS games. images/icons/smile.gif

im glad, as much as i liked the first game. At the time i found that not everything made sence, so im glad it's a remake. It will clear up any questions i had, hopefully.
