i read on a norwegian site that take2 has say'd that maxpayne2 is comming out in october.
they will not say when in october the game is comming out,but if it true thats a great thing.october is only 2 months away.

Maxpayne2 release date like every AAA title game depends on HL2 release date !

So the Bottom line is ,

If HL2 was delayed MaxPayne2 will be released as schedule !
if not expect MaxPayne2 to be delayed 1 month or 2 months ahead.

Take 2 might be talking out of their asses, but I think October is probable, if not then November. So not far away anyway.

I believe that is what he is trying to say. You do not want to release MP2 the same day the HL2 comes out, because your sales in the beginning weeks would go down. It is always better to release before.

An example:

John Romero just left id software, to make Ion Storm with some other developers he knew. One of the early games Ion Storm created was an isometric strategy game called Dominion. It was a decent game, but it was released the day after the Starcraft demo was up for download. Dominion only sold 38 copies in its first fiscal quarter.

yes but i do belive HalfLife has more fans than Max Payne

but then again every Counter Strike N00b will buy HL2 thinking you can dload Counter strike 2.0 for it and then realising they bought some shitty sci-fi shooter and then feel like. darn why didn't i buy maxpayne instead and then he notices he has no more money left to buy it

while i'm sure they are targeting Oct as a release date, Oct is close enough that they would know for sure by now if they could make it, so in all likelyhood its going to be delayed.

If you aren't confident of an oct release, than i'd bet that there will be a delay as par for the course.

just cause they didn't announce it dosn't mean that it's gonna not be released in Oct. Don't argue with Remedy, they have all the answers images/icons/grin.gif

Hey the G-4 channel also said Max payne 2 is expecting an October release! But that probably doesn't mean anything does it? images/icons/smile.gif

Well, the official site is up with plenty of news, and they already have at least one (outstanding!!!) new music track completed, obviously. (Isn't the music one of the last parts of a game's content to be completed? It is for movies.)

Remember, it's not like the game needs many, many more months for polishing. Remedy's been working on it quietly for over two years now. There's always a surge of previews right before a game goes gold.

With a little luck, Remedy's adding the finishing touches to the game. Hopefully there won't be bugs like with the first game, such as a flashing taskbar during gameplay. images/icons/smile.gif

Atleast in M. Night Shyamalan's (http://us.imdb.com/Name?Shyamalan,+M.+Night) masterpiece Unbreakable (http://us.imdb.com/Title?0217869) much of the music was done beforehand, so Mr. Shyamalan could tie the scenes in with the music more easily.

Masterpiece is pushing it a bit far.

I'd guess music isn't done near the end as much as playtesting and last-minute tweaks are, so wether that's an indication or not I don't know, but it's close, no doubt about that. They always said screenshots would come within 3 months of release or so.
