However, I have a bad feeling about that Game Of The Year 2001 award, because this year was and still is a highlight for all us FPS gamers:

(a possible GOTY candidate which could be a serious threat for Max Payne's throne, I believe!)

Hmmm. I have a little problem with a site that adds unreleased titles to their game of the year awards. How do I know if Castle Wolfenstein will really kick some major ass and not take the title - the game doesn't come out until tomorrow. Doesn't exactly seem like an accurate poll to me.

Yeah, Oni was pretty cool, but somewhat unrealistic(yeah yeah, I know, anime look and all that). It's a toss between hand to hand and guns. The really great graphics in MP and the modding ability really bring it up though.

Oni was disappointing. What the hell is Blade Severance of Darkness? Sounds shite anyway. Return to Castle Wolfenstein? It's not even out yet, and the multiplayer demo blowed ass. I've never seen anyone release something so similar to old games before they might as well call it Wolfendoom, please, somebody, come with something new... like Max Payne... there's things to be made in multiplayer too, just like Max Payne was innovative for single player. Ugh, I'll bet RTCW will be full of stupid zombies and shit, they ruined the first game. Developers today, don't have a clue... Thank God for Remedy... no multi in Max Payne 2, wuhuuuuuuuuuuu images/icons/grin.gif

I'm not sure if Evil Dead - Hail To The King is a 3rd-Person-Shooter, because I haven't played it. It seems to be more a Resident Evil type of game (=no true 3D). But anyway, I'm sure Max Payne is the only 3rd-Person-Shooter this year and it got my vote. So we have a clear winner, right! images/icons/grin.gif

Severence blade of Darkness is a really cool game by codemasters. Its mostly hack 'n slash action-adventure categoty game, but the game's highly realistic fighting action and awesome graphical effects make most of the game's bulk along with some bits of exploration and stuff. The weapons you get as different characters are all equally instantly gratifying. Unlike Max Payne, if you want a good adventure that lasts for a LONG time, severence is your best bet. Dont compare the plots though. It consists of finding some holy sword to defeat some evil emperor.

max payne was cool, but operation flashpoint was better crafted, and far more original. no offense guys.
