ok, i know thats the matrix code in the background, thats because its a matrix mod. NOT using the storylines of any of the films or games, we're making our own story that is simply set in the world of the matrix. More details will be revealed soon (read: when i feel like it http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif)
But currently, we're looking for mappers and modelers to help out with this project, if you can offer anything, please email me ( spacer1@blueyonder.co.uk )
thankee for looking http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

noo, it has a proper plot, and hopefully some innovative locations. The one thing we're having trouble with is weapons, theres not much in the way of stuff that hasn't already been used (our initial thoughts went straight to miniguns and katanas/knives, this was just after the matrix had came out :P, so reloaded kinda made us go "awww"). We wanna put the grenade launcher back in, though

Wow, looks nice. Is that art, or an actual model? Or is it a model put through photoshop? I like the way you filtered it to make it look sort of like something you'd see in 'The Animatrix'. I'd wait for the bones to allow for some fun kung-fu and gun-kata-like moves if I were you. I'm sure you already know what you're going to do, though.

thats art, no models involved http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif
we're probably just going to create our own models with original skeletons, i know a professional animator/modeler who does stuff like this http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

hmmm just a suggestion, would it b possible to make something "similiar" to cell-shading, thus making it seem a tad cartoonish? Cause if you could use a model that's similiar to the one on the picture, that'd be bloody awesome!!

what, ingame you mean?
well, if you hardly textured/used flat colours for the models, it'd look similar, but for an outline around the characters you'd need to essentially double the polycount (duplicating the entire model and enlarging it slightly, then flipping the verts, and having the skin for that one all black). its seriously not worth it, your models have to significantly drop in detail for it to work

There are other ways of doing it, such as using Ink'n' Paint materials/textures in 3dmax, photoshop filters etc etc. I'm going to experiement a bit with this once custom models are possible as I think it may look quite good.

Ink 'n' paint materials do provide an outline Rough example (http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/attachments/446413-retexturevega.jpg)

It should do yes, but as soon as we can import custom models i'm defiently going to try it http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif
