I thought i'd start this, as i'm always having trouble finding music to put into bullet time that hasn't been overused to hell. so i'll start, if anyone's got anything good to add, just post it here http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif.
Put in brakets what mod you heard it in, or (un-used) if you're never heard it in a mod before!

Overused - the ones you've heard in BT about a million times already

Propellerheads - Spybreak (Matrixed Reality)
Lunatic Calm - Rollercoaster (Other random matrix mod)
Drowning Pool - Let the bodies hit the floor (can't remember O_o)
The Crystal Method - Name of the Game (recently Cinema, but its been used lots before that)
Prodigy - Smack my bitch up (various tweak mods)

Up-and-comings - Never-used or only recently used music, still fresh and tasty!

Hoobastank - Pieces (Supermoves)
Filter - Trip like i do (Cinema)
Type O negative - Don't wanna be me (Cinema)
Rob D - Chateau (Chateau mod)
Steppenwolf - Magic Carpet ride (un-used)
The Vines - Outtathaway (un-used)
ES Posthumous - Pompeii (Cinema)
Porcupine Tree - Wedding Nails (Supermoves)
Overseer - Supermoves (Supermoves)
Propellerheads - On her Majesties secret service (un-used)
Hoobastank - Crawling in the Dark (un-used)
System of a Down - Shimmy (un-used)
System of a Down - Psycho (un-used)

hope this thread gives some budding mod-makers a nice list to choose from

(ps: i wasn't sure which forum this should go in, as it applies to both MP1 and MP2 editing, move it if need be http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif)

Wow. Apart from the Chateau one, I haven't ever heard a single one of those. And I've played the Cinema mods. Oh well, I don't know music.

i tried it, it SOUNDS like it should work, but in the end it doesn't, the beat is just too slow. That seems to be the problem with most songs :<

What about Scooby Snacks by the Fun Lovin' Criminal... if you speed that up a tiny little bit... I think that would be pretty cool.

^Nothing with lyrics works well as bullet-time music..

I'd go with almost anything by Chemical Brothers, Dust Brothers or Apollo 440 and with industrial artists that do instrumental songs (can't think of any right now, I mostly listen to music with lyrics).

I agree that music with lyrics doesn't work well because you'll soon get tired of listening to the same words over and over again.
Movie scores may suit better. For example 'Tetsujin' from The Matrix Revolutions OST, 1'24'' into the piece. It was written for the Hell Club shootout.

@Black-Lilith:
You got yourself a nice list, featuring my two favorite finnish bands: Nightwish and Apocalyptica.
BTW using Apocalyptica's beautiful cello music should be a supplement for the cello-driven MP theme.

@ Maxstreem
You've read my mind http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

@ all
I've got a song by Emil Bulls, don't remember the name, but it'd be perfect as well.. well, there is like 45 seconds of slap-bass - beautyfull strokes and stuff untill a repeating set of lyrics kicks in...

half of the stuff I posted above isn't lyrical.. or... not too much anyway hehe

I like the Choral stuff though. I think there was some used in either Hitman or Cinema. The strong vocals like this work for me big time!

One choral song that I keep thinking of is, well, I don't remember the name, but it was used in Die Hard during the reveal when the safe was opened (I think it's a Christmas song or Religious song).

ROCK:
Smack My Bitch Up . ( I think it works well).

CLASSICAL:
William Tell Overtue Finale (unused)
1812 Overture (unused)

CONTRAST:
"Over the Rainbow" (un-used, used in the Church scene during 'Face-Off' the movie).
"More Than Words" (un-used, this would be interesting)

SILLY:
"Don't Worry,BE Happy" http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif
"She Bangs!" (The William Hung version).

If we're talking silly songs then;

Electric Six - Dance Commander
The Dropkick Murphies - The Spicy McHaggis Jig
Toy Dolls - Livin' La Vida Loca
and of course War - Lowrider

who sung the version of somewhere over the rainbow you've just mentioned btw?

According to IMDB, it's Olivia Newton John. I don't think this version appears on any public recording though. I think she does have a different cover of it on one of her cds.

Another good classical song is the Queen of the Night Aria from Mozart's "Magic Flute". Very Dramatic. Very emotional. And very angry (The Queen of the Night was an evil woman).

I wanted to attach a snippet but couldn't get it under 100K. There is a 15 seconds 700Kb snippt here:

http://www.benandsheri.com/download/ariasnippet.mp3

The 15 seconds does it no justice, and this is not the best version of it. I have a much more dramatic version of it somewhere lying around :/

Cheers-
Ben

I am not famliar with that song.. I want to be so I can ROFL with you http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

But, that brought to mind another silly song.. what about Flight of the Bumblebee with the Adrenalin Mod?

Someday I'll have to actually sit down and find out how to change the songs myself. What possibilities to change the entire mood of the game!! Talk about changes to express your artisitc sytle.

Fatboy Slim - "Right Here Right Now"

A lot of good choies with some holiday music. Carol of the Bells is definitely a good one for me.

And Ode To Joywas the one I was thinking of but didn't remember the name.

"Right Here Right Now" is not one I would pick personally for me, but that is one reason I'm really enjoyin this thead. I like seeing the wide range of music that could be used for bullet-time and how it would enhance/change the feel of the game.

How about "I Need Love" from LL Cool J http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif Playing into Max's Psyche a bit. And not a bad song for mods that have Max's speed slow down in bullet-time.

Or am I just way out there in left field?

The thing with Carol of the Bells as done by the Trans-Siberian Orchestra is, it's done with ELECTRIC GUITAR. It's good stuff

Marilyn Manson - The Fight Song. The part where he yells fight over and over again towards the end, with the classic punk snare-and-kickdrum beat.

hm, i just got Led Zepplin - Immigrant song (dunno why i didn't already have it though O_o) and i think it could make good music in bullet time for silly mods.

Also, on a serious note is Prodigy - One man Army, but while i was looking for that i found The Guess Who - One man army, which is also good for silly bullet time http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

If you're talking fatboy slim then don't forget:
FBS - Push the Tempo
FBS - Weapon of Choice (although maybe a little too slow)

But then you'd have to make the bullettime function make time move faster http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif (which might be pretty interesting, though http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif )

How about slowing the enemies down SLIGHTLY, and making Max move faster while in Bullettime?
That would be hilarious, and would probably work well in-game.

Oh and "I Stand Alone" by Godsmack would be a good one. I did that once and it was awsome but I had to tweak around with it for awhile. Take out some parts and loop other parts.
