I don't know why everyone bitches about the changes made to Max. I'm glad at the very least they took away his necklace.

I've shown the amazing MP2 screenshots to three different people, none of whom visit this forum, and one of whom never played the first game --

But all three of them said that the new Max, of all people, looks like Indiana Jones! images/icons/rolleyes.gif images/icons/confused.gif

I rather like the new max. Sam rocked as max, but I think the new max represents a certain grow in max between the first and the second game. He looks more older now...more serious. The whole Max Payne2 mood is alot more serious in my opinion. The first one had this slapstick feel to it sometimes. The enemy faces, some of the graphic novels and that kinda thing. Max Payne2 looks like a real noir.

And I dig.

I agree, Synti! Very well said. images/icons/smile.gif

Nice try devil master, it's pretty funny but in the end, I have to agree with Synty and FMJ here, it just looks more gritty, more mature, more badass, and that can only be a good thing. Old max had the looks of a pretty faced cute boy, this one has the looks of a REAL fallen angel, a man with a hell inside who has truly hit rock bottom. And again, as synti said, it gives you an idea that the character has grown older and changed....

lol...nice one...but I don't like the ending for the reasons mentioned above.

The new Max always reminds me of Goofy from Mickey Mouse. I don't know why, but it's kind of scary.

^ LOL WHAT?!! images/icons/smile.gif Cool comic. I like the new Max too, it took me a little while to get used to though. The old Max was "a pretty faced cute boy", and thats why I loved it! images/icons/smile.gif

Again cool comic!

I still prefer the old Max's looks. But then again, it doesn't really matter anymore. Just give us the damn game! images/icons/tongue.gif

Yes , indeed it is scary.

A face can't hold all the information about Max Payne, but it can sure as Hell reject some of it. Imagine casting Clint Eastwood to play the character of Jim's dad in American Pie 2, replacing Eugene Levy.

I never found Max to be a pretty boy. The thing I like about him was that though he was badass, underneath it all was still a good guy. He was still fighting for the right thing, in the way that the Irishmen from "The Boondock Saints" were.

If this new guy is gonna turn out how it's looking now like he will, it's just gonna be one bad guy shooting up other bad guys.

Um, where the hell did that come from, Asker? The new Max doesn't really look that different from the original, aside from a haircut, more weathered face, and change of clothes. I don't know why all these people are shoving dildos up their butts over it. images/icons/rolleyes.gif

^ There is to a big difference between the first Max and the second Max! Thats why everybody made a big deal about it in my opinion. Look at all the changes you just listed.

Let everybody think what they want to think. I'm glad you can see past the new face and move on. Some people still can't look at it and say:"Thats Max." But they will once they play the new game. images/icons/smile.gif

I'm okay with the new change too. But was your last comment really necessary?

Well, I'd say a haircut and a change of clothes don't count as "major changes." This is a whole year later, after all.

Hell, even I've changed considerably after a year.

Here's me in August 2002: http://www.lordoftheringsguide.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=298

And here's me from a few weeks ago: http://www.sirstevesguide.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=5477

I barely even look like the same guy, and that's only a year later.

(Yelling out "Waaahoohoohoohwey!" would also be acceptable)

however, max is supposed to be in the prime of his life (and was exactly that also a year before - i hope). so he cannot really change that much over the course of a few months, can he?

And the guy in the blue jacket -- first panel, second row down in Devil Masters comic looks like a confused Alec Baldwin to me.

In the year-old picture I was 17 and in the current one I'm 18. I think the fact that I'd gotten a haircut and started working out made a big difference. images/icons/smile.gif
