What do they do to help Remedy in the process of making the game? I'm just curious. This goes for max payne 1 & 2, as I'm curious about both. Do they give Remedy tips or what? I know they're the 'producers' of the game, but what kind of involvement does that mean they have?

good "questoin" indeed.
Check this: http://www.3drealms.com/profile.html
About 2/3 down it talks about MP1 involvement. I assume it is the same for MP2

The same involvement as we did for Max Payne I.

"This game is a partnership effort, with Remedy handling the game's development, and 3D Realms providing funding, design direction and a marketing plan to create a long-term franchise property much like Duke Nukem has become."
As far as design direction goes, is it fair game to ask what kind of directions 3drealms pointed Remedy in for the first max payne? Certain aspects of the game remind me of duke3d, like how you can play with the water cooler, vending machines, and those explosive gas tanks that are spread about the game. Mayhaps 3drealms urged them to add a lot of finer details like that?
