Hey, everyone I was playing the prologue to Part III in Max Payne for the second time and look what I discovered.....

I went up to the paper on the desk with fire around it and hit <return/enter> and this graphic novel occurred....

So it turns out Max's ordeal is only part of a comic book.

Anyway, go out of the room and hit enter by the desk again and you will see this....

Turns out Max is just in a computer game.

This probably one of many secret gags that the folks at Remedy have snuck in. Funny, eh?

Anyone here already discovered them?

Like Scorpion said. I don't see how anyone could have NOT noticed that. Max looks at and speaks about the envelope in both rooms, demanding that you "use" it. It's not like it's a secret easter egg you had to go out of your way to find. images/icons/tongue.gif

...if you want "easter eggs", seek out the "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" room, the "Soldier of Fortune II" room, and the two instances where you can get Max to say "Thank you". images/icons/wink.gif

Edit - here's a link to a listing of Max Payne easter eggs (http://www.eeggs.com/items/32651.html).

No one mentions the Tetris egg that I found. </Brag>

That comic book/video game thing is part of the story, not an egg. graemlins/doh.gif

Sorry, geeks.

Just trying to share something.

Anyhoo, the first time I played Max Payne I didn't notice that paper because the sound on my computer was screwed up and I couldn't hear what Max was saying clearly.

DMY!

Right at the beginning, there is a hole in the bricks in the wall. Cheat yourself a grenade and throw it in. Your mission objectives now say "I had declared a war against rats". A bit later, after walking through some water and taking out a few enemies on a train platform, walk up the wide stairs. In the room at the top are a bunch of rats... with Desert Eagles! Now shoot at one of the ceiling lamps that's off. Hit the base of the lamp and it will fall. The rats will now battle each other. If "your" side wins, the remaining rats will take up defensive positions around you. If your side loses, the remaining rats will come after you.<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">graemlins/nelson.gif

I knew about the war on rats, but I didn't know you could make them fight each other images/icons/grin.gif

I got to check that out sometime.

I wonder if the war on rats will return in MP2? images/icons/grin.gif
