Well, for those who remember me... they may remember a mod I wanted to do a long time ago called "The Last Memory". I actually did alot of it... by myself, and I did get help from someone else, and the website never got completed... I think it was because of my idiocy. One of the big reasons I didn't continue with it was that, like very few people, I found Max Payne to be, However incredible, dissapointing. The details of charactors were based on textures alone, so I really couldn't be happy with doing all ingame cut scenes, and it would be hard to do alot of other things I wanted to do, atleast for me, so... I read up on Max Payne 2 like everyone else, I rebought the game (after it was STOLEN From me at a lan party...) and I have lots of free time on my hands. So I read about it, and said to myself, "It'll prolly be easier to do the ingame cutt scenes... HEY! *lightbulb*

Since you all prolly don't know me/remember me... I'll go thew the basics of what happened origonally...

After I read about MaxFX, and how easy it would be to make a mod, I told myself I wanted to make one (mind you this is maybe a year before Bourne Identity came out), I wanted to make a story about an assassin wtih no memory. This story is much darker then Max Payne, might not have as well writen, but it was very dark. I had it writen so death happened on every page, and not just fodder either. And it all boiled down to a conclussion simular to that of Cowboy Bebop episode 26... there is NO BETTER ENDING to ANY anime series, or even most movies.

This game however, did not die after I decided not to do it, infact, I had planed to write a movie script for it. Never did officially, but I always kept rewriting it to this day. And I finally got a good direction to go with it... so... I present to you... the prologue... (simular to the first level of Max Payne *where the pain started*)

Opening Credits...
It's a dark and cold night, rain is porring like the skies dam exploded. Pudles covered the ground, making small ponds out off streets, the sound of the rain was as loud as a storm and the dark night covered suberbia with the exception of one house. The lights were on... there was a lot of activity in the house, alot of running, and alot of fear. The fear was brought on outside, but not by the rain... by the two men standing in the rain, waiting.
They stood infront of a fancy car. One of the men was taller then the other. Both were blank, and unreadable. The tall man held an umbrella over the shorter mans head. The shorter man was remotly dry, he was the person driving the fear of the house.
Finally, the front door of the house opened. A short man ran out of the house, trying to cover himself with his jacket. He splashed threw the street, and stopped infront of the men. "Boss... I'm sorry... I couldn't find an umbrella"
The shorter man spoke, "Thats alright... I heard you had quite an interesting morning."
"Sir..." he was scared... just a movement from anything would make this man jump in terror, "I don't know everything that happened this morning... I just know what I was told from Robert... before he died..."
"where is his body?"
"in the house... he drove 3 hours with none of his wounds bound... we couldn't save him."
"what happened?"
"well... we found the girl... and we were doing as you asked..."
"What was that"
Bam! the poor man jumped, it almost seamed like a gunshot went off right as his ear, he began to shake, "To kill this girl..."
The short mans expression did not change at all, "Ah... continue..."
"Well... we found her... and..." *the first playable scene happens (leaving alone for this rough draft [however, I will say it is simular to that of the first level of max payne, ie, his house, short, brief, but easy to learn the system])*
*fade back*
The 'bosses' expression is still unchanged, and his voice remains as calm as ever, "so there was someone else with her?"
The man started shaking ever more, "sir... there is anothing thing I should mention..."
"Whats that?" Still a blank expression.
"Rob... said that it was..." the man stutters "g..g..'
Suddenly, both of the men's expression changed... as if they wanted to hear something.
"Gale..." he contined, "... Lacol... He was dilussional... I couldn't believe what he said..."
The 'bosses' expression interupted him. It turned to fear, with a little bit of hope, "GALE!"
The man jumped again, "...t..that's what he said..."
The 'boss' looked at the ground, almost as if to cry, doing his best to hold back what he really wanted to feel at pressent, "I'm sorry, this will require investigation"
The man seased the opertunity to end the coversation, "I'll get my men right to work on it"
"not so fast..." the expression on 'bosses' face was blank again, "there is one more matter we need to discuss"
Not as much affraid anymore, "what would that be, boss?"
The man holding the umbrella reached in his side pocket at the same time the boss said, "who told you we wanted you to find her, and KILL her..."
"...w.." fear erupted in the man again, "...what do you mean?" He reached for the gun he hid in the back of his pants.
He wasn't fast enough. The taller man got out his 1911 quicker, and put a bullet right in the mans head. The body fell backwards into the fisher ave 'river', and blood floated down the 'current'. The taller man put away his 1911. He spoke, in a deep, dark tone, "Do you think anyone else in there knew about this, boss?"
The 'boss' stepped out of the protection of the umbrella, "It wouldn't matter if they did, they are ORDERED to follow him, as he is to me. Rules are rules, and when rules are broken, more lives are taken," His expression dove into a depressed kind of hope, "leave the body... whats important now is that... gale... might be alive..."
The tall man nodded, "Lets hope so..." he opened the door for the 'boss'.
The boss went to step into the car, when he noticed something... a green car... a very familiar green car... They were common kinds of cars, but it was a little auquard to be driving in this weather. The car drove past the stop sign it had stopped at, but it might have been there a while, he just noticed it. It was out of view now. He stepped into the car, and payed it not another thought.

(forgive bad grammer, and spelling, I'm not a professional writer, remember, this is supposed to be vissual.

I told myself I wanted to make one (mind you this is maybe a year before Bourne Identity came out), I wanted to make a story about an assassin wtih no memory. <font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">Probably worth pointing out, but 'The Bourne Identity' was based on a book (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0553260111/qid=1063645661/sr=2-1/ref=sr_2_1/104-3597729-1197529) by Robert Ludlum, written back in the '60s I believe. images/icons/smile.gif
Not saying you ripped off the idea or anything (the concept has been done before, many times), but just saying that just because it predates the MOVIE does not mean it predates the IDEA. images/icons/smile.gif

Well, I suppose I just wanted to get it out of the way because if I were to just say that it's a game about an assassin with no memory, then some one would say, "Bourne Identity"

Mind you, gale is an assassin, not a secrete agent assassin. More like John Woo's the Killer. The big thing about mine is, Gale, when he HAD his memory had a conscience. Now he doesn't. All he has in his mind is a memory of being 'killed'. He doesn't know his name, his friends, his enemies. To him, everything is his ememy. Which brings another complication, his skills surpase his consiousness, simular to Bourne, which I have to admit, i adopted that FROM that movie. with a little twise.

Bourne, for example, will incapacitate someone with out thinking twice about it, he just does it...

Gale is simular... but... lets say he doesn't knock them out...

Gale is different from max payne as well. Max has nothing to lose in the first. Gale on the other hand, doesn't know what he's losing, which, if he gets his memory back... just think about that.
