I'm just writing this to any Remedy and/or 3D Realms staff to ask if the A.I in Max Payne 2 is as good as the graphics look at the moment.
Because a statement about Half-Life 2 (not trying to make comparisons images/icons/smile.gif ) said that the game has good enough AI that it basically didn't scripted scenes etc.

P.S. if Max Payne 2 get released on time (October 15) roughly when would it come out in Australia? Thanks.

How can AI be "as good as" graphics look? They just can not be compared. Like apples and oranges, my teacher would have said.

Anyway, the AI has been re-written completely and it is working extremely well.

At this point in time, I really do not know about the release dates for specific markets. All I can say, it'll be there as soon as possible.

AI in Max Payne wasn't that good, so I hope they will do something about that in Max Payne 2, but it's not necesseraly to send an email to Remedy about that. If you changed the title of this topic, someone of Remedy would eventually start replying to it, but the AI is the only thing I'm afraid Max Payne 2 could fail about.

BTW, Max Payne 2 comes out on October 30 in Europe, don't know about Australia, though...

There is an EDIT button you know...

Anyway, will Max Payne 2 have a more user-friendly SDK? Also, how large can levels be with the improved engine?

MaxED 2's basics will most propably be completely the same (the way you create and texturize rooms and objects), just the dynamic stuff (AI scripting, FSM scripting, objects physics) will most likely be changed, as far as we have heard in the message board.

anyway thx remedy for shipping max1 with some of the best sdk tools for games ever. looking forward to max2 modding already images/icons/smile.gif

I think the level can be as large as you want as long as it fits to the memory of your computer. There might be other limits also, but creating a level that large would take a _long_ time (if you want to make it look good/play well also)

To hell with that. I'm pre-ordering it from the states, at least it will come a few days earlier...
