Sound effect problem

Hello!

I just installed Max Payne 1 with 1.05 batch. Everything is working fine except that I do not hear any shooting, walking etc. effects?? Music is working fine. I have the following setup:

AMD2200+
512Mb
XP with SP1
SB Live 5.1
Sapphire 9600 XT 128Mb
MSI KT3Ultra2
Logitech Z640 5.1

Well, let's first check the most obvious, from the Main Menu, Options->Audio->Sound Effects. Make sure the slider is at the right end.

Then update the sound card's drivers.

Hello (Terve) Joonas.

To my shame I have to admit that my SB Live drivers were not up to date eventhough I thought they were. I updated them to the latest 5.12.2.252 and even the effects in MP are working just fine under XP.

me to having the same drivers but the sound effects like shooting and speech are not there in my game i am having this problem help me man. gotta get bored cause of this problem
