In the earlier "How do you make skd" post we disvovered how to edit and move around skins...... and now I can say that...... THERES A WAY AROUND GETTING PAINTSHOP/PHOTOSHOP!!!!!!!! Edit the kf2 of the corresponding skin you'd like to change (with the hexeditor in the above mentioned post). Switch the texture's name from.... let's say MaxPayne_Body_A.dds to MaxPayne_Body_A.jpg . Now get a dds viewer (not editor) such as what I use, Irfan View. Select the dds you want to edit, open it in the viewer, save as MaxPayne_body_A.jpg edit the jpg how you want it. Now everything should be right. Compile your mod and enjoy your new (and free) skin!!

I use photoshop elements at home with .dds plugin and paintshoppro (or the college) if I need to do something that needs an alpha. But I alter the images in tga because its not lossy like .jpg. Elements is pretty cheap, even comes free sometimes with other stuff *G*

RTCW used .tga for alphas. Remedy posted to convert to .tga then to .dds. Guess I am not a trailblazer *LOL*
