Max Payne screenshot contest winners posted

Today we bring you the winning entries in the Max Payne screenshot contest. They were delayed a bit due to Remedy being tied up, as well as another issue which we'll tell you about in a minute. Anyway, we wanted to tell you that the nine winning shots have been culled from the plethora of submitted shots, and they're ready for your viewing. The problem alluded to before is what caused a delay in getting the winners posted. Here's the story from our webmaster..

"We had just got done through picking the winners, when I suffered a catastrophic mail loss on my computer that I was unable to recover from (my previous backup was Aug 22nd). How does this affect the screenshot contest? Well, I had all the entries in a secure area on the web site for Remedy to view them, but after I did that, I lost all my mail, which means that I have no idea who did any of them anymore.

What we need now is for the winners of these nine screenshots to contact us at joes@3drealms.com regarding their entry. *At that point we'll be able to work out how and where to send prizes to. We'd appreciate it if those involved can contact us ASAP - we're very sorry for the problems."

Thanks to everyone who entered the contest - there were lot of good ones in there, and it was pretty hard to pick. To those who didn't win, hang in there, we'll probably be running another contest of some sort shortly. images/icons/smile.gif

Hey, who did that cool model/skin showed in the Funny Winner #2 (http://www.3drealms.com/max/images/contest/funny/funny2.jpg) screenshot???!

It looks very matrix'ish! The black shirt, the cool sunglasses and that new black coat. The face of that skin looks a bit like John Travolta. I think this is the best model/skin I've ever seen in the mod community so far! Great shot!!!

I took the winning Funny Screenshot #2. It was done using the Max_Neo mod which I believe you can find at maxpaynecenter.com.

Also, I have sent in my request for the winning shot to maxshots@3drealms.com for lack of a better place.

Thanks 3D Realms for picking my shot! I can stop refreshing your website every hour now and get some much needed sleep...

Probably next week, as it is now Thanksgiving break for most schools and businesses.

EDIT: Joe, I'd be interested in knowing how many people entered the contest. Can you give us at least a rough estimate?

Dammit!! I maybe could of has a chance of winning had I submitted my Matrix ish backflip from the subway very similar to the cool moves #2 Only thing was mine was from the opposite angle and I was a little more closer to the edge of the tracks.
