What's a site that can show me exactly how to make my own art in editart. I can't figure it out. How come when i hit "v" it doesn't show any of the tiles? Just a black screen and a highlighter box!

Best make your art in Photo Shop or Paint Shop Pro, then import it into Editart. Editart is not a friendly art editor.
Do you see any art at all in editart?
If you don't, then you probably don't have the art tiles extracted in the Duke3d folder.
While in the Duke3d folder, type, (kextract duke.grp *.art). That'll extract all the art file into the Duke folder. Editart should work then.

If i understand your question?
In Windows, go to your START/PROGRAMS. There should be an MS-DOS prompt icon, click on that and that will bring up a DOS window. Thats where you run the DOS based programs from. http://www.3drealms.com/ubb/images/icons/grin.gif

If for some strange reason your computer is restarting (if it is called MS-DOS Prompt it shouldn't be) do the following

click the Start menu

select Run (and click it)

in the box, type the word command

press enter or click okay
and there you have it, you are in the MS-DOS Prompt.

I feel truely sorry for tech support staff.
I'll just paraphrase one thing from a site I was reading earlier:-
"If you can't use your computer, won't read the manuals and won't take a course why the hell did you buy your computer?"
Almost certainly there's nothing wrong with your PC - you just don't have a clue what is going on - although it does make me wonder how you managed to post here.
So I have to ask (as I have a hunch) are you pretending to be an utter computer dunce or are you really clueless?

I tryed it and this is what came up
This program is set to run in MS-DOS mode and cannot run while other programs are runing. all other programs will close if you choose to continue.
If i continue it restarts into MS DOS.
Now do you see?

In the duke3d directory, delete all of the *.pif files.
if it says that restart thing when you type command, type c:\windows\command.exe instead.
It is because of the pif and lnk files that are telling it to restart.

Ever changes a pif file?
Now you're going to:
Goto /windows/
Find dosprmpt.pif
Right click and select properties.
Click Progam tab.
Click Advanced.
Uncheck MS-DOS mode.
Click ok, ok.
I just wish people were told these things when they bought the damn machine.
[EDIT] Damn you Veldrik.
[EDIT] I have no idea why the hell I am helping you RH after tha crap you mailed.
