When I was playing ManHunt I noticed simular textures that looked like Max Payne's. Wel sure enough, when I opened the games textures (for a hehehe "Special" thing I'm doing http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif ) I saw at least 4 Max Payne textures in the Zoo levels files but only in console format (128x128). Now I know there both pub by Rockstar and they have rights to the textures but still just seems sorta weird you know.
Why is it weird? It's up to them if they want to reuse the textures.

Just the whole thing. Just weird how that works.
Well since they paid all that money I'm sure they'd want to put some use out of it. Especially since the MP textures are quite good.. and why redo something that has been already done.

I knew it! Yeah, I noticed that as well. Some months ago I was taking a look at some Manhunt trailers and I couldn't help but noticing the exact same texture for a trash trolley prefab that Remedy released (not on the physical objects pack but one that came by default of the Mod Tools Installation). The resemblance was spot on! I mean I am mapper, and I am using that same prefab in my levels so I know that texture pretty well and it was there on that video.
I don't think it is weird, Rockstar can (and should) get away with it as long as they don't overuse them and risk tipping off players of the Max Payne reference. But just a couple of textures shouldn't be noticeable to the average gamer, only the hardcore mappers who rely on these textures will find them famillar. http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Didn't actually notice it, played the PC version. But am sure when R* North said they wanted pictures for textures they got the same source material Remedy used, nothing weird in that, why wouldn't they? Most of them were probably supplied by R* in some way anyway.
