View Full Version : Floor & ceiling heights
Is it possible to smoothly adjust floor and ceiling heights? I tried PgDn and PgUp combined with all shift/alt keys but it didn't work.

Assuming you meant adjusting the ceiling/floor height in smaller increments and you've got OGLBT now, and since Veldrik doesn't believe in instruction manuals [ http://www.3drealms.com/ubb/images/icons/smile.gif], here's the quick explanation of adjusting floor/ceiling heights with build/oglbt.
First, each pageup/down adds or subtracts 1024 units to/from the floor or ceiling.
So say you want to make a ceiling move up half as much as with a normal pageup. In build, find out what the sector's number is. (I think hitting tab on the sector in 2D mode will display the sector number) Then in OGLBT, load the map and switch to the Wall/Sector editor. Find the slot for "current sector" and enter the number of the sector you want to adjust. Click the current sector button. Then go to the floor or ceiling z (height) slot. Add or subtract 512 from whichever you wish to adjust. (as sector heights move upwards, they get lower; -10,000 is higher than 10,000). Save the map and continue editing it in build.

Switch to 2D mode and highlight all the sectors you want to change. Go back to 3D mode and use PageUp or PageDown. All the selected sectors will move up or down.
You can also shade or rotate groups of selected sectors this way, too.

Thanks guys!
(But it's a shame we can't do it in Build in 3D mode!!!)

TerminX compiled a modified build.exe for me with 512-unit increments for pageup/pagedown. Pity Ken's build source doesn't have all the new atomic edition shortcut keys.
