I've thought about this and according to me this would be the best way to make a door:
a Dynamic Object with an animation according to the door and a trigger immediately in front of the door (at the back the same thing)

is this the right way or can it be done lot's easier?

Remedy has made a default simple door and is probably in your Prefabs directory, it comes along with the editor, the name is Door_wood.pre , see if you have it

but that door has a lot of unecassary objects in it. All you need is a door, animation, trigger and fsm.

You dont need all the dummy textures and collison things.

yeah a lot of people say that but I don't know i feel that a swinging door has a certain charme to it. (I know I'm a hopeless sentimental guy http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif) and especialy if it goes both ways

yea, but a door swinging both ways loses that slight hint of realism.

Truly, swinging doors is a great source of sentimentality in all cultures http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
