Rasmaker2, which is packaged with the mod tools.

But if you want to play them, you don't open them. You just place in the game's directory and then start the game. Select the mod from the drop-down list.

As DeFlex said you've got to do it via MS-DOS Command Prompt (or Command Prompt if you're using Windows XP).
Prior to Windows XP, go on the Start Menu:
Start-> Programs -> MS-DOS Command Prompt
or
if you are using XP:
Start-> All Programs -> Accessories -> Command Prompt
Okay. once MS DOS Command Prompt / Command Prompt is open, do the following:
(1) Type cd.. <Hit enter> ( You may have to do this twice until you see C:\> )
(2) Type cd MaxPayne2dev <Hit enter>
(3) Type cd RasMaker2 <Hit enter>
(4) Type rasmaker2.exe <Hit enter>
This will run the program which will present you with the options for packing, extracting etc... mp2m files.
Anyone hope this helps.
If you want I can make you a batch file to make running RasMaker2 easier.
You'll have to tell me if you're using XP or not.
Alternatively, (as DeFlex said) you could use a GUI-aid for RasMaker2 such as RasMaster.
Anyway I hope this helps.

Did you get RasMaker2 running then
or are you just asking for a batch file?

Alrighty then, here you go.
Download it and extact to this path:
C:/Documents and Settings/ (your xp username folder)
This is important.
I've got XP Home Ed., but I assuming this is the same in Pro.
To use run Command Prompt and type in default path:
mp2ras

A lot easier way is to copy the Command Prompt and the executable itself to the folder where the mod is. And then just extract via the command prompt.

yeah... maybe. But in the long term its a hell of lot more impractical.
If you want to be able to execute many dos-based/like programs it makes more sense to make batch files.
Rather than copy 'command.exe' the whole time.

Much easier to just download the GUI-version from L4U.

You'd need to copy it just once.

Isent the name RasMaster and not Maker.. im not sure and its maby the same .. but RasMaster i found very easy and should not take many minutes to figure out how to use. http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif

Never mind its working now, i downloaded RASMaster, cause RASMaker 2.0 doesnt work http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif
no, it does work. you just don't read carefully enough what the kind people here have said to you. go up a tad, and read what samji said about it, and READ carefully, as it is instructions. rasmaker2 is a command program, not something you can just double-click.

pathetic, when i was in elementary school i could run a program like this. you guys need to stop helping this guy and let him learn a valuable tool that he will need in real life called "read the instructions". i mean you've been helping him for days and still nothing. make him read all the freaking tutorials that they released for all the different sections of max modding before he takes up this much of our time again. sorry newb, but you can try harder then this. my mom could run this program, and she's a computer moron.

RasMaker2 can't on its own either, to open .mpm (Max Payne mod files), you need to have RasMaker which is on the Max Payne disc. You need Max Payne 1.
