The game itself was great, kick ass infact. But it has 0 replay value. I've downloaded most of the mods, and it still doesnt change the fact it bores me afther 1 game. Oh well, good work though remendy.

To me a game that has no reply value, is not a good game. I hold multiplayer games to be more fun because I keep going back for more, where as singleplayer games are old after 1 or 2 runs.

Max Payne is like watching a great movie. You can watch it over and over and each time you see more than before. After awhile you'll want to watch it again... How many times did you have to watch "The Matrix" before you got the whole story? A friend had to watch it about 3 times. I watch it over and over just because it's cool and so is Max.

If you want replay value you buy NHL 2002 and those types of games. I've played that for 40+ hours now. But if you want fun, involving experience filled by a story, you won't get over 15 hours. There are limits on how many mappers they can have for money, and it all looks so damn good. It's simple, it's a damn good game, with a damn good story, and damn good cinematics. It's fun for however long it's fun. But you haven't seen any mod replay value yet cause there hasn't been many levels, but they'll come, don't worry...

I really don't understand why people are so upset about this replayability stuff. I've played through 3 times, and suffice to say, I'm not gonna do it again for some time. But I have it on the shelf alongside Project IGI, and I'm certainly going to play both several times more. But they are singleplayer-only games. How can people actually expect replayability?

It's like return to castle of wolfestein.. i ONLY bought it beacuse of the great TEAM multiplayer but I've played only only level in single so far because got bored and story didn't affect me in any way, but multiplay i like images/icons/cool.gif

and I bought max payne because of it's single play and cool graphics (yes im a bitch for neat graphic and particle effects) and it exceede my expectations and the story really sucked me in. (i played trough all the modes without cheats and even the secret room i passed with cheating graemlins/hhg.gif

I'v put it aside until the kung-fu mod and others started to appear.... + i've been play with mod tools ever since

P.s.
Project IGI is one of the best single play FPS games also in my oppinion... and i actually thought hitman was shorter than max payne for some reason..

I stopped playing Max for 2-3 months, downloaded the Ultimate Mod .v7 and now I'm hooked all over again.

I hear the single player in "Return to Castle Wolfenstein" has the same amount of gameplay as Max Payne. It's pretty good too, but I'm into RTCW's multiplayer action. It's all about the quality and not the quantity of gameplay and this has been said before. Now for some reason I feel like buying a new Ford truck.

It is easy enough to find out if Max Payne has multiplayer before you buy it. If you didn't think "single-player only" was enough to justify the money, you didn't have to buy it. I can see how you might be disappointed in MP's length, but again, that information was readily accessible as well.

You said it has zero replay value. I disagree. It has some. If it's a great game, it has replay value. If there are mods, it has replay value. It has "New York Minute" mode, which adds replay value. If you don't want to take advantage of them, it doesn't reflect on the game.

You want replayability in a single player game? Get Severance: Blade of Darkness. The game itself has loads of replay value and there are some excellent mods avalable. Particularly the gladiator mod.

Would have been game of the year if people weren't so damn narrow minded!

A good place to start is here: BoD Fansite (http://www.arokhslair.net/severance/)

Well do what I do then, shelve it for a month or so and when your bored with the next game you are playing, come back to it. I'm just finishing up Gran Turismo 2 right now, then I am gonna play Final Fnatasy IX, and I plan on playing Max again after that, for the 4th time now... I try not playing a game to death once I get it, I usually beat it once and shelve it for awhile, and usually wait for some mods to come or add-ons...
