Hi
I'm trying to use the teleport stuff, you know, but nothing happens, it also says a message like "found lonely SE" but I still can't get it. Does anyone here have a very basic teleport example to show me how it works??? My email is thehigher@yahoo.com. If you can email me the file I'd appreciate it http://www.3drealms.com/ubb/images/icons/wink.gif
Thanks

It's very easy.
You make 2 child sectors(red walls), put 1 SE 'S' in each child sector with a lotag of 7 and the same unused hitag in both. Thats it!
If you want to transport only one way, make the destination sector SE lotag 23.
To find the lonely SE, when you run Duke3d and get the error message, write down the numbers, then go into Build. Those numbers are the X,Y coordinates. The lonely SE means you have an SE without atleast a lotag number.

damn straight...thats how its done...
now to elaborate on his error say you have a subway right! and you did it perfect i mean perfect...and you incrementally tested it thorugh its progression from the laying of the tracks, locators anall..to adding walls to the train giving appropriate hitages, lotags, and leaving an opening on the mother sector of the train say the sector that is the floor of the subway with the H-tag of 1 well i left the opening so that im not cutting anything off (the error where you block the center out..and the train creates a HOM effect) well i prevented...well now that we did that..now say when you load up build it says can not find givin locator for SE1 and 14 thats saying that all those pretty locaters are trash and that the 2 cars i got for a subway are in essessence wasted right becuase to this day ive found no rememdy to this solution maybe another mapper can help me out with this mind boggleing problem if you need a sample just ask i don't know if the art will line up for you though...

Found lonely SE means you have a SE with a lotag of 0 not being used as a pivot point.
If you get that error you've not built the sub way correctly. There's really no point trying to argue otherwise: it doesn't work ergo it's not correct.
The SE's will look for the locator matching their hitag which must be in their parent sector.

I beg to differ, 1. becuase the subway was working a second before that...it did everything it was supposed to.
2. I can only think of one reason why the car would do that..and thats becuase i closed off a sector of the car from touching the actual moving part, or the SE isn't on the train...
Those are the two theroy's an both ive done none ove... im thinkin im pushing build to much...The train was correct i redid it 3 times, becusae of that error, andthe 4th time i managed to escape its horrid fate! http://www.3drealms.com/ubb/images/icons/smile.gif

You've just confirmed what I said, your locator was no longer in the parent sector of the SE when you split the sector.
I cannot stand it when people will insist on arguing with supporting information.
