Well.. It took me some time but now I finally put out the mod I was working on a half year ago.
Its called "Gothland" and its almost in black and white.
here you can downloaad it:

http://www.netpsykologen.se/gothland

New textures, new GN , New story and so on.

The story is inspired by Frank Milles Sin city.

This is some kind of beta (just chapter 1 and 2)

If the mod will be popular, I might finish it.

anyhow.. All feedback is nice. Good and bad.

I really liked the art and the style but it was somewhat short. But still it was very good!

Ok first things first.

Normally I would give alot of comments about the some times abtractly shaped objects..but not this time.

I really like the noir and comic book feel (atleast a certain type of comic book we have here in The Netherlands). The graphic novels are fine aswell.

Some ideas:
- use more music, I really missed that at certain points.
- maybe a bit of fogging in your levels
- not so obvious collision boxes
- maybe a bit more detail in the geometry

Question:
- in level 2 I shot all the cops and the lady in the back (where do I go)

If you're in dev mode press F4 and look for the switch, it's on one of the graves. If you're not in dev mode it's the one with some writing on it.

I have some negative and some positive feedback.

First, why has noone brought up the apalling grammar and spelling errors that plague the graphic novels? You have some real creativity and imagination, which is shown in the way you establish the plot and the dark mood, but I can't take it seriously when it is coupled with such atrocious destruction of the human language. Unless, of course, you do not speak english natively, in which case I would understand completely. It is also my personal opinion that blue blood doesn't quite fit in with the theme of this mod, but that's your decision.

On to more positive things. I absolutely loved the way in which you did the textures. In that first cinematic, I thought the shot were the camera comes from behind the cross was brilliant. Seeing the stark contrast between the black and white background and the flames on the candles added a very artistic touch. I think the stairwell in the church, though a little glitchy here and there, could be the most creative and beautiful architecture I have seen in a Max Payne 2 mod to date. The way the black and white textures had some parts of the stairs almost hidden until you came right up to them is pure genious, and it almost gave the illusion that the stairs more forming and morphing around you as you ascend. I also thought it was interesting that you made it seem as if the main character was more than just a preacher, and possibly had some kind of dark past. The idea of a gothic themed city is also very cool.

The mod was very cool. Black and white makes it very exciting....and kinda hard to play in some sections. Like when i was going down, i almost dropped. Well, luckily i made it alive ^^

Graphic novel was very impressive.

It was pretty cool mod even it's not done. I hope it will continue very soon. I like this mod...or should i say total conversion?
