Ok, I need a little help on this topic. For duke3d demo recording, they have that annoying camera that plays in blue players view whenever someone goes within its boundries. Sometime in 1997 someone (don't know who) made a series of the popular maps and labeled these Ncam Maps. It meant "No Camera" Mainly what they did was place the default sprite over the recording cameras and then they didn't work. I and some of my friends who were very good at building duke3d maps couldn't even figure this out. We did the exact same thing to the cameras as was done in the Ncam maps, and it worked, but the demos went out of sync. We think a certain program may have been used to override duke making it think its the same map. If anyone knows how to do this, could you make me an Ncam map for Fahrenheit (E3L7) and Freeway (E3L11). Thanks.

Nevermind, you guys completely suck at responding to this sort of thing. I suppose it's just out of your league. I just asked a professional duker, who happened to have, all of the Ncam maps I was planning on making.

Keep in mind that not everyone reads this forum, you know. http://www.3drealms.com/ubb/images/icons/smile.gif
And watch the brandishment of "professional Duker". Unless the person is getting paid for a living to play Duke, or is in this industry, the term professional really doesn't apply. http://www.3drealms.com/ubb/images/icons/smile.gif

I tried explaining this several times (as you must know) and the message simply didn't sink in at all.

I knew you'd try pulling that shit on me. And YES he was a professional. He was a German duker who (during the time he played) competed in MANY tournaments that had money prizes. He, being a very very good duker, came in first place for almost all of the tournaments. So yes, he had an income playing Duke. Thank you for making an ass out of yourself Cyborg.

Winning prizes isn't income - it's prize money. He didn't do it for a job with a steady cash flow - it's not a profession.
Thus, he isn't a professional.

Ditto - I can't go on WWTBAM consistantly and call myself a professional quiz show contestant - it's no different here. To be a professional games player you'd have to be paid to play as if it were a sport.
So yet again you're the ass.

Well blah blah blah. You mentioned that Thresh would be a professional, but yet he isn't sponsored by any companies to actually play games. He also gets just prize money. It may be a lot of money, but its still not an actual income. Anyway, I'm going to continue using "professional" how I see fit, since a lot of people come to term as using it as a slang word meaning "someone who is very good at what they do." And that's what I am to me. I am extremely good at duke3d. so I consider myself a professional. Just because I (along with many others) use it as a newer slanged definition, doesn't mean you have to. So be aware that I'll be using it as I see fit. http://www.3drealms.com/ubb/images/icons/smile.gif And also, Joe, you aren't a professional Duker like I was stating. No one at 3drealms is. You aren't "dukers", you are programmers, artists, etc. But I understand how picky you all are with the whole concept of how you must hate slang or whatever. But good job, you put me in my place or whatever. So you use it how you want to, and I'll use it by the slang definition.

LOL Funduke. http://www.3drealms.com/ubb/images/icons/smile.gif I know I have it on my page, but it was lacking a few levels that I wanted to view demos on. But thats ok, I already found the person who originally made the Ncam maps, and he had added some others to his site. So I have all the ones I want now. Thanks anyway http://www.3drealms.com/ubb/images/icons/smile.gif
