Gretchen Morgan is supposed to be this bad ass operative of "The Company", the ruthless organization that masterminded Caroline Reynolds' rise to the Presidency of the United States.

The producers did a terrible job with the casting of this role. Ms. O'Keefe hasn't done a good job at all and overacts in almost every scene. Is this due to her insecurity because she knows in her heart of hearts that the role isn't really for her or is the role just really horribly written?

She is, for me, the worst aspect of a terrible season of Prison Break. And being the worst of something terrible, well, that is almost incomprehensible.

What did you like? That she's pretty? I think she's a pretty girl who tries overly hard to come off as a bad ass. Terrible actress, terrible season. :(

C'mon. It's on the third season and all you can criticize is the acting. What about the ridiculous story?

What about the fact he ended up in prison (again) and had to escape (again) and the fact that "The Company's" only objective seems to be mass murder.

Still, its better than Heroes S2.

Gretchen is a big part of the story and why it is terrible.

Well, arguably, the characters are the result of a poor plot. She is not the only bad character.

No, that is definitely true, but she is probably the worst one.

It irks the crap out of me that she survived the season. I may not even watch next season at all because of that.

Maybe there's something wrong with me, but I actually enjoyed this season of Prison Break. I found the last half of Season 2 pretty uninvolving, as it didn't maintain the incredible tension that was present in the prison escape. I watch Prison Break for those nail biting moments when it seems like everything is going to go wrong, not because the characters or plot of the series are particularly interesting, in themselves.

In that regard I thought Season 3 was something a of a return to form, with the bungled prison escapes and all the chaos that ensued.

And I thought Gretchen's tendency to overreact was due to her inherent emotional instability: she's not really your typical cold hearted killer.

But she chops of heads with cool abandon?

If you noticed at the end of season 2, when Scofield is taken to Soma, that they drop him off in an alley and that he enters a door with Soma written in big letters over it.

Then, at the beginning of season 3, Soma is suddenly surrounded by a no-man's-land and it's in the middle of the jungle.

I thought I remember her expressing disgust/anger about having to do that.

I dunno, I may have blocked it out.

Anyway, regarding the return to form statement, the bungled escapes you are talking about from season 1 weren't supposed to happen. There were initially ordered 13 episodes and they were supposed to escape in episode 13, but then Fox ordered 9 more episodes or so, so you got 9 episodes of bungled escape stuff which was pretty shoddily and quickly written and then the planned escape from episode 13.

Ugh. I shouldn't have watched Prison Break beyond season 1.

I was talking specifically about season 3, which obviously does complete the escape in 12 episodes. I agree that season 1 dragged on a bit too much, although the latter episodes were used quite effectively by the writers to ratchet up the hopelessness of the situation, with Michael's tattoo being burnt off, and him being dumped into solitary.

I think it was overly contrived and reeked of their sudden realization that they had to drag the story out for 9 more episodes before they could escape.

Season 2 was the best yet, for me. Season 1 was a great opener, but season 3 is just too "made up". Lost season 4 is the best there currently is, it is really good, even better than the first season.
