Map release: Situational Awareness
Alright. I'm pretty darn sure the map is done. It might be able to use a little bit of tweaking, as I havent actually tried in in multiplayer... or prey MP at all.

A small, fast-paced map where disorientation is your main enemy, and possible ally. Stay behind the railings, as the walls are electrfied, and the room's gravity center has intense radiation.

Update a few min later: its now in a pk4. Tip: dont make your custom map into a .rar and rename to .pk4. it dont work. Needs to be a .zip

Interesting concept! Maps a bit small though. In it's current state, it might be fun as an occasional treat for a 1 vs 1 or all-out insanity fragfest with more players.

Framerate drops considerably when wallwalking, could definitely use some optimization there if possible.

If you could fix the framerate issue and add to the map, maybe portals to additional rooms, then I think you might have a truly great map. I really like the floating walkwalk orb in the middle and how it rotates!

put it in a pk4 file. from my skimpy knowledge, you are missing a default folder and a Gui folder, I may run it on my server if the fps is good as well as gameplay

I updated the download so that its in a pk4, but yeah I should re-add the mapdef file, and I dont know what the gui folder is for... There's no gui's in my map at all.

Ok, i've added the mapdef file, and the gui which I'm guessing is supposed to be the loading screen, but I cant get them to work on my computer, so if anyone can find a tutorial on whats supposed to be in the pk4 for release, that'd be most helpful.

HERE is the updated pk4 file.

I can't see it in the maplist when I try to bring it up on a "listen" server..Also,to play on my server, I will need "good framerates", no big drops in fps

Have you tried the latest pk4?

It must have something to do with the mapdef file... Crap. Ok I will have to try and fix it tonight, I dont have a server to test it on myself.

Pretty darn cool idea. Yeah, it's small and short, but I like the premise a lot.

And I tried creating a server with the map too, and didn't see it listed either.

Ok, it should be working now, I had a folder misnamed, and some files in the wrong spots.

framerates are good unless there's an area I didn't access. Don't recalll any portals.Why no Lightning gun? or acid gun.Pipe?...when it's finished, I'llput it on my server

Yeah, the framerates seem to be pretty good when you're not running lots of stuff in the background. When making the map, I had two versions of prey running, and several other things so the framerate went from about 40-50 down to about 15-20.

As for the weapons, dont you get the pipewrench automatically? or do you mean that healthpipe thing? If you mean the healthpipe, its cause I didnt know anything about it till just now :/ I havent actually played MP yet :| The weapons I did put in the map I figured would be best for the size and layout of the map.

Any suggestions for what weapons to put in, suggestions for layout and such would be greatly appreciated right now. I've started a second version of the map which should hopefully fix all the short-comings of this one, and improve the gameplay and look over all.

So far, the arguments are:
1. Unpolished. Overall fairly plain and boxy, needs a bit of touching up
2. A little too small.
3. the "electrified walls" are cheap, and the player shouldnt die when falling off the wallwalk, or into the middle.

More rooms was also suggested. Spoiler:

the freezer leech gun ammo is in no mp maps, you want "health pickups" ammo,health pipe and some portals leading into other areas or rooms. I think the Lightning gun would work well here. I'm no mapper, so I can't help too much...good luck
