Been here since '99 although not everyday and I didn't say much either.
I have a good time reading the posts. This is where I come to read some of the most funny non-sense.
Anyhow, I'd like to see DNF released this year by 3D Realms and witness their success in their ass whoopin' of T2.
This story is overstreching and I'd like to see a spectacular closing to this chapter with the succesful release of DNF and a big party somewhere.

This thread's retarded. I don't know a single person that plays video games that does NOT care about duke nukem forever. You'd have to be crazy. Practically everyone wants to play it. It's just that now most people probably aren't expecting it. heh.. I anxiously check at least once a week to see if any magical hopeful announcements have been made.

I was thinking though... would it be possible to continue development of DNF at an excruciatingly slow pace? (verses stopping completely) And then release an ETA that's about as reliable as a microsoft operating system. (EG: ETA 178.437 years) Sure, at that kinda pace we'd all be dead before it came out anyway, if it came out.... the thing is, it's just comforting to the soul to know that somewhere out there work is still being done on DNF, even if just barely. :doh:

I do read the forums from time to time but only if i'm very bored and have nothing else to do. I know there wont be any real news so whats the point? its more of a habit. maybe one month from now I will never go back to the forums again. but maybe there will be something, like more leaked artwork or maybe even LameDNF if the whole sourcecode leaks.

The 3D Realms News I get from their RSS-Feed so there is no point of going to the website.

I expect that someday there will be a game called "Duke Nukem Forever" but it wont be what I expect which would be a direct sequel to DN3D, made by the same people.
I may buy it though. But only if I have a computer at that time that can run it and that probably wont happen. Only if 3D Realms released the game now, I'd buy new hardware just for the game.

Any real updates on the game won't be for a long time so I will just infrequently pop in from time to time so I can see how the community is going.

Honestly it's hard not to still be waiting for it, what else is there to do? It's not like it takes any time off my hands. My tabs reload each time i start firefox and the link to 3dr is allways there XD. I take a quick peek once in a while to check for updates. It'd be shame for all the work 3dr put in this to go to waste. And besides, they spent 12 years on it and i'm pretty sure they were doing SOMETHING. I'm kinda curious as what that was.

All the good games are schedueled to come out in 2010-2011 anyway. :P

Still interested but not hopeful that it'll live up to the legacy of DN3D and not hopeful that it will ever see the light of day. My guess is that we'll see a new Duke Nukem game but it won't be DNF, it won't be the interactive nirvana we dreamed of, and rather, it will be a much more generic and run-of-the-mill sci-fi fps than we wanted. Face it, 3DR shot their load and missed by a mile. The best that can be hoped for is 3DR sponge up the mess and try again with a turkey baster.
