Assassin's Creed 3
First look at the new main character.
According to Ubisoft, this game has been in development for at least a few years now. I'm excited to see where this one goes.

Re: Assassin's Creed 3
Can't say I'm thrilled about the setting.
It's nice to get our of Italy and move on to a new character. But at the same time... I was personally hoping for Japan or something like that. I'll keep an open mind to this one, but I'm already a bit put off just by the location.

Personally, I'm excited. All the way back in December 2010 when I was playing AC Brotherhood, I figured the next AC game would be set during the American Revolution. I assumed the next hero assassin would be a Dutch or French mercenary pitted against the British. But I like the angle of your character being Native American, so perhaps it can avoid the bipartisan aspect of colonists vs. loyalists.

Well, it certainly looks pretty. Japan would have been an interesting way to go, but to me, this is a better choice. How many games are out there that use this setting? Seems like an untapped resource.

Untapped because it is a difficult time period to pull off a good game in.

Re: Assassin's Creed 3
So this is proof Brotherhood and Revelations were just cash grabs. Expansion pack quality sold at full price.

Re: Assassin's Creed 3
Basically, yeah.
While I loved Ezio, his story didn't need three games. And really, I enjoyed his character much more in AC2. It'll be interesting to see how they portray the new character.

Re: Assassin's Creed 3
Honestly, I enjoyed Brotherhood. Good story, improved graphics and well-implemented new game mechanics.
Revelations was just more of the same.

Re: Assassin's Creed 3
^^^
Good to know. I played AC when it came out on PC a couple years ago, and still have sealed copies of ACII and Brotherhood (stumbled across a new copy for $10 at Zellers a few months ago!!!) as part of my backlog. Will be playing all three sometime this year. Note to self: only buy Revelations if it's dirt cheap
