Exactly... I just thought that part of the map looked pretty. It just shows that there's still progress.

It's not supposed to be anything other than a nice looking bit of a map. I think people have seen most of the features (nice bullet effects, new weapons, enemies, etc), and I think people now just want a nice mod to get released. So this is just me tipping my hat out there saying, "Look, the one thing we really need is being worked on! And it's coming out okay too!"

I don't think every screenshot need chunks exploding off of walls and blood everywhere.

And I agree completely. It looks really awesome and pretty much got me interested in Decay again. Hope you'll be able to finish it soon (enough)!

It was just a screen to show the project is still going forward, and not dead. It's not meant to be a "Look at me! LOOK AT ME!" type thing, just a "See, we're still going strong." type thing.

I recently asked Hudson about the project and he told me it was still going good so I'm happy.

Yes, it was just to show that the project is not dead. The team is busy working behind the scenes, just out of the spotlight.

MBlackwell has been doing some great work with the project, and an old friend (who happens to be an amazing mapper) is doing some fantastic work.. as you can see in the screen.

I was reading over the thread for nostalgic purposes and figured I would answer your comment since I recently reinstalled SoF2 and noticed the same thing. Apparently Raven had the same idea we did and used free textures from a site called "CG Textures".

They're just free generic spatter textures.

that game is awsome.. the 1st one and the 2nd one.. but the 3rd one wasn't good.. raven didn't develop it, only activision.. just wanted to get some quick sells with the name it seemed like

Well, activision wasn't DEVELOPING it, those were some guys from czech republic as far as I know. Developing and relasing are two diffrent things I would go crazy if anyone would say that 1C is DEVELOPING Necrovision, not we (The Farm 51).

Yeah, SoF: Payback was developed by Cauldron. The team who did Chaser (which is an awesome title).
It was simply published by Activision Value.

And Hellbound, who are things coming on NecroVisioN? I anxiously await the game.

Not sure, might have more shots (or at least one more) soon. We're still going but mostly running in stealth mode. I know that's not a terribly exciting.

Also, if any modelers want to sign up to help us with a few assets, we would really appreciate it.

Very doubtful at this point. We're mostly trying to finish what we have and what we have planned already as opposed to adding new things.

Cant wait to play it!! I got an cool idea for it (dont know if it can be done). Maybe you could include a board-up feature.. you can pick up things like wood and barricade doors with it.. in one level there could be a time limit - like you have 5minutes to pick up enough wood and board up a house.. after the 5mins zombies spawn outside.. many zombies.. if youve done this, youre safe.. otherwise you have to fight the undead.

Just noticed this on Mod DB. Description: "Decay is a 3rd Person, story-driven survival horror TC for Unreal Tournament 3". Despite being a survival horror game of the same name, it actually sounds quite different from the EDuke32 Decay when you read the planned details. Kind of annoying that they picked the same name, though. Heh, unless it is really you guys making an U3 version.

Two zombie themed mods with the name Decay. Hmmm.....

Oh well, that other mod looks pretty cool as well. But this one has had my attention for a long time, and it is the one I'm going to keep watching.

I don't know if it stuck or not, but I remember Hud joking around with calling this Project Decay for a while.

No, no UT3 mods. We're not on Mod DB though iirc, so it's not exactly like they stole it. I think all will be well.

No need to get the lawyers in.

Boarding up idea, not necessarily a bad idea but not really a fit in this mod. You could nearly base an entire mod off that mechanic.

I don't hold out much hope for zombie mods that display lots of unskinned renders of weapons we've all seen before (Actually, I could say the same for all mods for newer games that just have a bunch of unrendered stuff)

That other mod seems too ambitious to see the light of the day, I'm afraid.

I like the clay models and concepts they did so far besides some consistency details and modeling mistakes they didn't notice so far - but that's nothing to get too upset about for a mod.
The other mod unfortunately seems stuck in cool characters and concept art.All the environment shots they have on their site look too standard for my personal taste. Besides the solid texture work and everything it just looks too ... static and clean.

Ah well .. as long as "The Real Decay" mod (tm) still keeps developing ^^
