Here are some shots with the new zombie model by Hellbound:



Keep in mind these are rough test shots, they're only using one of the skins Hellbound made and they're without tweaks to the enemy code for the new animations.. but I thought you guys would like to check it out anyway

Those aren't just a 'clean' skulls. Their skin is white and some parts like eyes and mouth are devoured but nose for example is still in place

With the models like that, we can create skins to look like less decomposed zombies (not just skeletons).

I'm extremely proud to help with this project now. I won't really be a big part in the mod, as I have no technical skills.
But Hudson asked me to do some conceptual drawings for zombie and monster designs. I'm more than happy to participate.

For those of you that haven't seen... these are the drawings he saw that inspired him to ask for my participation.

Yes things are going very well, a lot of progress has been made in a very short time. MBlackwell and Hellbound have made some really great stuff, and I'll be updating this thread soon with some new media once we get a few more things implemented and working

the zombies could use some more gore to be honest. they look pretty clean right now, the clothes need to be darker and more dirtier and the faces could use some half decomposed skin.

Ok, here's a quick update: Note that some of the stuff is still under development, and some things in the shots (such as the magnum ejecting brass) can be easily fixed, and will be soon.

New weapons:
- Every weapon has been completed with the exception of slot 9 (undecided as of yet)

New effects by MBlackwell:
- Sparks, smoke and wall deformation from projectiles which varies on the surface (think "F.E.A.R."). Shooting glass spawns glass model particles, wood spawns wood fragment particles, and cement/rock gives.. well cement/rock particles.

New models/skins by Hellbound:
- Updated civilian zombie model and skin
- New "skinless" zombie model and skin
- New "Hellwasp" model and skin
- New "Putridity" model and skin
- New "Hellhound" model and skin

New zombies and effects:

Short answer: No.

Long answer: ...no?

See how that other one was slightly longer?

It's not to say there won't be "transportation" but it's not planned that you'll drive anything. Mostly we're focusing on making stuff for the player to kill and be killed by.

Jeez you can tell these people are having way too much fun blowing chunks out of the environment instead of actually hitting the zombies.

Don't worry, there will be a mod with vehicles some day. When I get back to work on Duke Nukem Arena in a month or two, that's one of the things I'll be looking into (apologies for this brief hijack of thread).

Okay, got a few drawings done. I'll be scanning those tomorrow or the day after (wedding planning takes up all your damn time). Hopefully Hud will like them and Hellbound or Mblackwell can do something cool with them.

Oh man, I was recruited as a mapper by TX many months back and I did bugger all. Been busy... and totally lazy with my own projects, and the fact I don't work too well in a team. Good luck on this though compared to the build played about with, looks even more promising.

Wow. I was only playing Hudson's Zombie TC the other day and thought about making a mod alot like this. This looks great already and I can't wait for it. Maybe I will create a few custom maps/episodes for this when it's done.

I just have two things, a gripe & a question...

I'm not particulary fond of the zombie skin, personally I feel a more 'raw' look would be better suited. Here's a skin of some faces in the style I mean:



However it's up to you, just thought you'd appreciate the opinion.

Finally the question, can you give a vague answer to when this will be released? 6 months? A year?

Anyway great work guys.
