Re: New screenshots of DNF in Duke3D XLBA
Comparing these screenies to the teaser video in terms of quality, the teaser video showed no signs of the jaggies we're seeing here, which leads me to conclude it's just a settings issue.

Hopefully 3DR will comment to clarify for us.

Claw marks?

That grip looks perfectly normal for a custom 1911.

The downside with that type of rendering is that doing AA is very costly so my guess is the game may not support AA at all. The upside is good scaling with increasing number of light sources.

The octabrain texture reminds me of Alien.
And the "fingers" that go on the side of its head remind me of a facehugger.

What, those olivey-green scratches on the grip are normal? Unless they're a reflection of something (and don't ask me what) I can't see what they could be.

Incidentally, is that a Nuke logo I can see under Duke's thumb?

I think it's just an extremely odd-patterned custom grip. I would prefer it to be solid pearl, too.

I'm sure it's that, uh, button you press to release a pistol's clip.

EDIT: Nvm, you mean the nuke symbol on the actual grip.

I was thinking maybe it might actually be alien claw marks from a previous encounter. I like the idea of Duke's gun having history, i.e. aftermarket laser sight, alien scratches, custom engraving, etc.

Just a thought.

Yeah.

They could do a lot worse, too:

I could live with such graphics, but I dislike the overall shinyness of the scenes. Duke's fingers shine too much. That is just bad texturing/lightning IMO, it should not reflect like that. Don't look like human skin at all.

Also, the gun look like a toy.

Mr Broussard sir!!!!! Over here!

Good, kind, benevolent sir. In my debates with those on other forums... seen here for anyone bored enough:

http://forum.spacebattles.com/showthread.php?t=138710

... with regards to these particular shots, would you be so kind as to tell us if those are from the PC or 360 build? Also, whether those are with all the settings maxed out or not?

I thank you in advance for taking the time to read my post and hopefully considering replying... *bows and walks away*

Re: New screenshots of DNF in Duke3D XLBA
No, we've had closer confirmation than that, Kristian.....

On shacknews awhile ago someone randomly asked how work on DNF was coming along. George directly responded by saying "360 dev kits are fun"(and added a smiley).

AND the recent quote about rigging Duke 3d for xbla and George saying that all the 360 stuff they learned will directly translate to DNF.

Now he hasn't flat out said "DNF is coming to 360"- but from seeing those quotes, I don't think there's any chance in hell of it NOT being released for the current generation of MS Xbox.
