Crystal Caves tile dumper
I wrote a little program that dumps the tiles of Crystal Caves episode 1. It doesn't work with episode 2 and 3, because the tiles are exactly the same. (you can rename cc2.gfx into cc1.gfx and it works but it's useless)

Cc1dump is at my site: http://www.sfprod.tk

Good job Frenkel.

It's great to see someone making extractors and viewers, and level editors of great Apogee classics. I will be putting a utilities page on Apogee Central which will have all of your kick ass utils.

[EDIT] No idea what file the levels are stored, sorry.

Frenkel, Will you be making a program for Secret Agent that does the same thing?

I already tried to make something for Secret Agent. That's the first computer game I played so it's very special to me. But I think the files are compressed and I don't know how to decompress them. I do know that the graphics are in Sam101.gfx and the levels in Sam103.gfx. I don't know what Sam102.gfx is for. And I do know that the big pictures like the opening screens are PCX files.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">Maybe a tile editor for Crystal Caves like the one of adurdin for Keen 1-3.

I think the levels are inside the EXE and I don't like to edit EXEs. So I think I won't make a level editor. Maybe that guy who made the editor for Pharaoh's Tomb could make one for Crystal Caves.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">Yeah, I know. That's not supposed to happen. I don't know it either why you should give a username and password. I don't even know the username and password.

The site should work now, at least during week-days (If the site doesn't work in the weekend, they repare it on mondays.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">Sam102.gfx are the little 8x8 pictures, like the letters. The file size is 6144, or 3 * 2048 (like cc1-f1.mni, cc1-f2.mni and cc1-spl.mni in Crystal Caves). So I'm not sure if it's compressed. I rather think it's encrypted in some way.
