Memories
A copy of my first post ever...
--------------------------------------

Topic: Blake Stone - Registered Third Disk
Author: Simon Broadhead
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I previously purchased Blake Stone: Aliens of Gold. I cannot find the third disk to it, so could someone send that file that's on the third disk. And, even if i didn't have BStone already, the file would be useless.

My first post

Actually, the problem wasn't resolved until nearly 8 months later, with my new sound card

Re: Memories
Aaah, good old BStone...

Blake Stone: Aliens of Gold was the first Apogee/3dRealms game I ever played, the first 1st person shooter I ever played, and one of the first computer game of any kind that I played!

This game will always hold a special place in my heart... it introduced me to computer gaming and FPS!
And I still love that game...

There are abandonware pages where you can download the full game.
And, no shame, since you HAVE paid for it.

Re: Memories
Lamish? It introduced the hub system! It had electric barriers, soldiers that 'don't quite die', and lots of stuff doom doesn't even have (like a hub)!

Re: Memories
Dunno
i tried the shareware episode time and again, since it camed with my ROTT CD.
but the game just didn't have "it"
it didn't keep me on my seat, and was sometimes pretty boring.
the interface sucked, and the talking to scientists made the gameplay boring.
and it looked too much cartoonish.

I actually found my 1st post too: http://3drealms.3dportal.com/ubb/For...ML/000669.html

As for Blake Stone, I got the demo and I honestly thought it kinda sucked compared to even Wold3d, though it was more advanced...

Re: Memories
I remember my first post. My name was
SLASHER, and I was going on about how
"Keen is going to battle Mortimer for
the universe - and that's just it?"

I think that might have been one of
the highest rated posts in this board.
About 80 people replied to it. Let
me try and find it . . .

Re: Memories
Blake Stone ran too slowly on my 386, so I erased it and played Wolf 3-D instead.

Nice to see you back Simon, ain't seen you in ages.

Re: Memories
I liked Blake Stone when it was new. I probably wouldn't have even played it if I hadn't had a 386 that couldn't quite play DOOM.
