I'm watching something.
I'm waiting for some latest news of some games I liked. I haven't said about them for years.

Will there be a newer version of Realms of Chaos, or it will be free?
I've found an old leaked beta version of this game from a fan site, and I think that one is prettier. Will they implement them and enhance its graphics? Also, I like the music from both two versions of the game.

Will they still do something for Terminal Velocity? If nothing, maybe they discontinued this title.

How many titles are discontinued actually? Some other games I've liked has been released as freeware, but I'm waiting for something else that has already discontinued to be released as freeware.

Will and when? Please tell me. Maybe I said something I shouldn't say.

We still sell ROC, which means there are no plans to release it for free.

Nor are there any updates going to be issued.

Any support you get for these titles is out of the goodness of people's hearts. It's not guaranteed that you'll get any support for these titles.

"Support" means we're obligated to find an answer (or at least try) if you're a paid customer.

If we've released it as freeware, it means "no support" - meaning, you're on your own to get it running. As was pointed out, any "support" you get would be from others in the public; not from us.

Oh, well. But I hope these titles could release newer versions.

For example, I hope version 1.1 of ROC could be released, or version 1.3 of Terminal Velocity could be released.

Probably.

No. Don't expect updates like that for the old titles. It just won't be happening.

The only exception to that was the patches I did for Crystal Caves & Secret Agent like 14/15 years after the fact. That was an EXTREMELY minor fix - we didn't even have the source code, we were lucky that we were able to figure out how to fix the game by simply hex editing the executable to get it to do what we wanted.

But as a general rule, updates to old games like that simply do not happen - and that goes for EVERY game company.

IŽd say the same. IŽve already had to look for cracks for an original game that I have! Copy protection doesnŽt works in newer CD-ROM drives and the game company simply had no patch for it.

Sticking to the topic, although game companies donŽt updates old titles, they DO create newer versions or sequels for their old games (Mario and Doom are nice examples). IŽd like to see improved versions of the older games. Cosmo Cosmic Adventure could be a nice Mario 64 clone. Major Stryker could turn into an Einhander like game. And Commander Keen could be a newer Castlevania Symphony of the Night. Even if made by third-party companies.
