Glad you got it going! The config files for winrott and winrottgl are not compatable in every
detail...

I can't get WinRottGL to run on my PC. I installed the game from my CD, applied the patch, copied in the exe, the dlls and the graphic files.
I deleted (all and some of) the .rot files as suggested, I changed the file name to WinRottGL.exe.
Nothing does help, the startup screen comes up and before I can click on anything the WinRottGL application stops.

I've a similiar problem with v1.34 of WinRottGL. Strange enough only the shareware version is affected and doesn't start, full version does work.

I see a black screen only and will be thrown back to the desktop, my dbg-file:

If you have deleted the cfg files and it's still not working, then try installing winrottgl in it's
own directory with the minimal set of files required for it to run...

This a strange problem, try re-installing your directx runtime and see if that helps...

You could try re-installing a older video driver, I had a older game stop working recently
when I installed the last nvidia driver, I had to switch to direct3d to get the game to work

In case your wondering I just ran the latest winrottgl on my system just now and it ran
fine...

Not quite. 1.34 never ran on my system, whatever I tried. 1.28 does.

WinRottGL_Full_v1.28.exe is some 5.30 MB or 1.11 MB compressed with WinRAR. I can upload it anywhere you wish or just mail it to you if you have gmail, or hotmail account.

O.K., I played with it and found out what is causing 1.34 to always crash on my system. The reason was that I always tried to run it from D: drive, which is where I originally have my games folder incl. ROTT. I moved the ROTT folder to C: drive and 1.34 worked at once. This bug has nothing to do with the setup. It seems to me that for some reason 1.34 runs from C: drive only, whereas 1.28 worked from everywhere.

I see, you have them already. Sorry for asking. Hmm, in XP (with 1.34 from D: drive) I always got a message for conflict with ntdll.dll. Could that have some relation to NT? Don`t know...

Drive c is where I have my rott stuff installed, I wouldn't have that a drive
letter would have mattered, but I'm glad you figured it out...

I would love to try out version 1.28 but I couldn't find it on the net anywhere so far (strangely enough)...

Hm, my problem only affects the shareware-version with 1.34, not the full version. With 1.28 in runs perfect.

Just report a bug about WinROTTGL v1.3.4(Reg. Version).
(Warning : I didn't do full test, so maybe can't reproduce the bug...)

I found this bug on my self-made level.
(Original ROTT looks like didn't happens due to there aren't somewhere placed like I did in original levels.)

I placed a spin-blade stabber(stabbing from floor, *) and a pit-trap nears that spin-blade.
* : Spin-blade maybe happens too. But I didn't test...

X = Walls, O = Other things, A = Pit-trap, B = Spin-blade Stabber(from floor)

XOAB
XXXXX

When my character fall in the pit-trap(A, faces the Spin-blade Stabber(B).) , don't get up from trap, move forward to hurt by spin-blade stabber, then get killed...
Damn! game stuck due it didn't ends when player's HP drop to 0...

Looks like if player get killed when stuck at pit-trap will cause game stuck?...
If needed, I will try make a screenshot about this bug.

Hmm... WinROTTGL looks like need more bugfix...

That's the first bug report I've gotten in a while, make sure your rott level
is error free, and even though the game seems to run ok generally, go ahead
and delete your rot cfg files and let the game re-generate them, and try your
level again, if you want, send me your level as a attachment and I'll see if
I can reproduce the error on my end..

This area(Bug happens) is on a secret area, take elevator on X=69 Y=122.
That elevator room nears the pushwall on X=57 Y=125.
The Pit-trap placed on X=19 Y=107 , the Spin-blade Stabber(from floor) placed on X=20 Y=107.

This level will crashed on original ROTT and WinROTT
due game crashed when too many guard get gibbed(Whatever you use Dog mode or Firebomb or something to gibbing a lot of them.)
WinROTTGL will not crashed.(NOT crashed when I testing...)

This map, I already full tested. Should not have any map bugs... maybe...

I've played it some, no problems so far, it's possible I'm not getting to the right spot, could
you try posting a save game right before where the error occurs? The file will be named
something like 'rotgam0.rot'.

Nah... I upload 2 of savegames about location of bug happens.

The first savegame is "player stuck at pit-trap" then I move toward to get hurt and killed by spin-blade. And get result on the second savegame : I got killed in pit-trap by spin-blade. But game never ends, it stuck, I can mouselook up and down, but nothing happens.

I want to record a demo, but it always desync and messed up.

Those save game files helped, on one run, I died and got the message 'reload save game',
and later it did what you claim it's doing, this is a bug for sure, but for right now, you can have cheats turned on and type in '86me' to kill yourself the next time this happens...
