Basically this lists all forums and some other sections of the 3D Realms Forums in it's own menu at the top of Firefox. This allows you to jump to any forum from anywhere on the web.

Just click the link to the .xpi menu in Firefox and it'll popup with a Install menu.

Though you might have to add adm.alanwake.net to the allowed domains.

EDIT: You might have to just open the .xpi with Firefox itself. So Open with -> Firefox .. then install it that way.

I've submitted it to the Mozilla Update site. So when it comes up you can install easily from there and keep it updated easily enough.

I get a "Not a valid install package" error when I try to run it from my hard drive, and it just shows a long text file if I try to run it from the web. Using Firefox 1.0.7.

Hmm that's weird. Try removing the extension and reinstalling it again.

I'm on 1.5 and it works fine but I did try it first on 1.0.7 and it worked.

I can't remove it and reinstall it because it gives that error instead of installing it. I did try deleting it from my hard drive and downloading it again, but it still gives the same error when I try to install it. A shame really, as this looked like a pretty cool extension.

Hmm that's weird. Can you try dragging it to the Firefox window? See if it opens that way?

If not you could wait until it gets on the Mozilla Updates site and see if it works that way.

I've just tested it on Firefox 1.0.6, 1.0.7 and 1.5 beta and they all work fine with it.

No idea why it isn't working on yours like that.

What operating system are you using?

I tired getting it from Mozilla Update and it says:

"The extension you requested is either incompatible with the application selected, or the version of it is no longer available on Mozilla Update."

I am using Firefox 1.0.7 on Windows XP computer.

It's not up on there yet, it's still saying Pending approval on there. Where did you see it?

EDIT: Ahh I see it comes up in the search over there. Anyway yeah it's not approved yet which is why it says that message.

I've provided the .xpi file in the first post.

Follow these instructions:

- Save the .xpi file to your desktop.
- Once it's download drag it to your firefox window.
- This should bring up a install window, just click install.
- Restart Firefox and the menu will appear at the top.

Is this actually hardcoded, or are you picking up the structure from the software itself?

Reason I ask is if I make any future changes, will it blow this thing up?

So did this ever get approved on the Mozilla Updates site? I still get that, "The extension you requested is either incompatible with the application selected, or the version of it is no longer available on Mozilla Update." page when I try to get it from there.

However, i don't get what you mean by opening it 'with' firefox... I don't see how this is possible..!
Do i have to put it into a certain directory, or do i have to open it somehow..?

Well I asked it to update my extensions and it prompted me to install version 1.2 of this software. Then in installed an extension called "Tech Support Guy Forums Menu" which is just like your extension only for another forum. It has got a 3D Realms logo even, I think it is pretty strange.

Hmm that is weird. The mod is based off that mod but theres no real code that can cause that problem.

Try uninstalling then reinstalling it again using the url in the first post.. then try updating and see if it does it again.
