Prey Weekly Update #14
Hey all -- welcome to the fourteenth edition of the Prey Weekly Web Update.

This week is a bit different in that I've enlisted the help of other Human Heads. I asked several people to write up a typical day for them to post in this update. Well maybe not entirely a typical day, I suppose, since the company is deep in crunch mode. But a day in their lives nonetheless.

The responses were all interesting, some of them rather hilarious stream of consciousness type of ramblings. I hope you find this to be a fascinating insight into the minds of people in crunch mode who apparently are slowly going insane. :-)

I should warn you that there are a couple of minor spoilers in here, but nothing that will ruin the game -- just some references to some level names and characters we haven't really discussed before.

"WRENCHES ONLY, ON THE ASTEROID." haha.

I'm glad they're giving Talon more lovin' and tweaking him. I hope he can help attack some enemies. Perhaps pluck out eyeballs and such.

I'm afraid I'm at a point where I will not continue to read those updates - Not because they don't interest me, its more the feeling to get to know the game to well before it's even out... All those minor spoilers add together...
Nevertheless it's a great idea and if I wasn't so afraid I would continue reading them

That was indeed, very different...
But in a good way...

I liked many of the ways they explained it... Especially Jeff DeWitt's...

People think working at game companies is a cakewalk for some reason.

Personally, I'd like to hear more from Brian Shubat and this leath furniture auctions. And sleeping thing was cool. Poor cats and trash.

Oh no, I don't think that game developing is easy at all. I know that it takes alot of hard work. It's just that I tend to be a little impatient with such potent FPS Games.

George, i think this question seems on topic regarding all this so:
Can we expect to get a weekly update describing precisely what roles 3DR are doing with Prey..?
I'm not talking about what part of the development 3DR are making, because we know that already... But i'm asking for examples of what the individuals of you do.. Like the guys in this update...

On a second thought, if it's not as much as i had in mind (the work you're doing with them that is), you might as well forget about this...

PS
I'm looking forward to all the questions we asked to get answered...

That Whitehouse guy is just like me... I also hit the snooze button for 49 minutes before I get up... and sometimes it's in my sleep
My body knows exactly where to press when I'm sleeping, apparently
It's the opposite of lucid dreaming: muddled awake
And it's also every 7 minutes for me.
I always get lucid after 49 minutes though, probably because my brain interprets/recognizes the time it is after 49 minutes (8:19) as something to pay ATTENTION to. So it wakes me up

Different kind of humor perhaps..?!

Anyways, i liked the little change of the developers telling what they make with the game (and what they do at work in general) instead of the usual informarion and stuff... Adds a little variation throughout these updates...

Well, imo that is...

Sounds like they're moving into really cool offices.
