Duke Theft Auto
After alot of people telling me to make a thread on this mod I have decided to after uploading the first gameplay video of DTA,

* Note *
People that have never played the "Classic" Grand Theft Auto game or didnt like it wont find this mod very interesting or entertaining because the maps will be designed exactly how the GTA ones were, lacking in high details and shading. (You have been warned. )

Enjoy.

Recommended PC hardware for this mod would be:
2.66 Single Core Ghz Processor Or better
1024 MB Ram or better
ATI Radeon 9600 Pro or Geforce FX7600 or better (Even these might be to crap in the end product)

Everything look awesome so far! Except for the pistol exploding those two fire trucks, i don't get how that's possible.

Just a question, there will be cars that exist in real life in this game, right? Or will it all just be made up cars?


And there will be missions, right?

Im not fully sure what you mean, The cars in GTA were based on real cars but had fake names. Im still working on the cars.

It's not ready to be played yet. These are just simple screenshots showing what has been made so far. Also, I'm guessing that there won't be any beta release until there are proper drivable cars.

He can use dukeplus and just remove Special Duke feature...

Pulsating sprite can be usefull for the light of car (like in blown fuses)

Yeah so it was THAT easy to remove every feature and let pulsate stay? Instead of doing it, I would either code it myself OR just let the other features stay

Why would I go to all the trouble of that to leave a feature that wasnt even in the "Classic" GTA game?

If im doing a mod based on a movie/game ect I never try to follow what there maps look like, thats bound to make things doom and fail, (That Metal Gear Solid Mod some one mentionded they were making comes to mind)
So the only thing based on the original maps are the texture sets they use.

Making drivable cars ect in Eduke32 is easer than most people might think it is, but the trick is getting it to handle exactly as it should. Thats when ill release a video of that then.

nice work, you really catched the atmosphere (at least visually) of GTA.

If you need any help regarding vehicle controls (coding related) just ask me or just take dukearmy code :P

and please, keep the game as "spriteish" as possible, and most important thing: include the radio "system" when inside car and I NEED the possibility to fart and burp :P
