Going to Japan this October! Need suggestions.

I'm pretty excited. I'm either going to leave the 12th or 13th, and come back on the 25th. I'll be staying in Osaka, where a friend is having their wedding, unless I chose to venture further.

For the first few days I'll be there by myself, and don't know what to do (besides play guitar and shout "nanpa!" at people). If anyone lives or has been there before, can you suggest things that I could fill my time with and things I should see/do? Any major tv stations in Osaka? I want to try to get on one of their crazy shows.

Be sure to ride the bullet trains. They're really fun.

Also, if you like electronics, be sure to check out Akihabara. There are many video game shops there.

If you like natural settings, be sure to check out Mt. Fuji, or the hot springs at Beppu. (I've never been to Beppu myself, but it looks very interesting.)

they also sell college girl under ware in vending machines i think they they also sell stuff like ipods and believe it or not socks i'm not sure if Japan has the ipods and socks but, i saw something about it on discovery the underwear thing i read about on the internet. :P
so yeah what ever. I think it sounds fun i know i personally would check out a few shops that sell custom minibike parts for the Honda Z50 series thats just me, that and the video games shops as suggested above.

if youre heading to Tokyo, visit Shibuya District, but dont go there at night, can be a rough place.

Doesnt Shiranui live there? he may shed more light on the attractions there.

If you can, make the trip to Hokkaido, was always a dream of mine. stunning scenery.

Hokkaido will be out of my reach, I'm going on a budget. Still I might get a rail pass to travel a bit. That doesn't include the Bullet trains though, and it seems that a round trip from Osaka to Tokyo on one of those would be about $300, so I might pass on that.

But if you are finding yourself more favorable to the suggestions the others have made, go to the Doyama area and ask the locals there where you can get the best stick of Pocky.

Geez, forgot about the thread. I didn't end up going because I had to spend $2500 on car complications. My friends all went and it seems I totally missed out. Girls were picked up daily, and many had to be turned down - due to sheer numbers. A friend was drugged by a 40 year old woman who looked like she was 20 (I'm sure much beer had been drank) and her two woman friends, another friend accidentally got on an all-girls train at 7 in the morning while coming back to the hotel from the house of the girl who had picked him up the night earlier... my friends are already planning a second trip, so I'd better have my finances ready when that one comes around. Moral of the story: Japanese girls love white guys.

I wouldn't know. Either way, they had plenty to choose from, and so choose they did. Late one late night they also had an entire club opened up just for their group. They all extremely loved it there.
