What was the last movie or TV show you watched?
Let's get this sub-forum started, shall we?
The last movie I watched was Gone Girl this past weekend. EXCELLENT film. I've never read the novel so I had no expectations coming into it. I thought it was great! Excellent casting too. |
Re: What was the last movie you watched?
All the way through?
Roger Ebert's "Life Itself". |
Re: What was the last movie you watched?
I have watched the 7 Saw movies in the same day.
I have too much free time... |
Re: What was the last movie you watched?
I think Noah was the last film I watched.
Pretty good. |
Re: What was the last movie you watched?
The Conjuring
Pretty good suspense/horror film. They didn't go overboard on the haunting stuff so that definitely helped. Also, they had a solid cast. But, still not anywhere near scary. Solid atmosphere and mood... but, that's all. |
Re: What was the last movie you watched?
Batman Returns.
It was the only Batman movie I had never seen. I think cosmic forces were at work protecting me, keeping me away from it all these years. I really hated it. The DeVito Penguin fat-suit was idiotic. His body is already abnormal enough to not need that. Walken seemed out of place. Maybe it was just the hair. Definitely tied with Batman & Robin for worst live action Batman film. |
Re: What was the last movie you watched?
Transformers: Age of Extinction. Was pretty brainless.

Rewatched the A-Team. Great adaptation of the TV show. Sharlto Copley as Murdock had some hilarious moments. |
Re: What was the last movie you watched?
Disney's Planes.
I have kids. :) |
Re: What was the last movie you watched?
The Robocop reboot. Surprisingly, it was good. Hit the right notes with a story more centered around an amputee than a machine. Had some nods to the original franchise with the portrayal of the media and some minor references.
|
Re: What was the last movie you watched?
Yeah, I liked it as well.
It's what a reboot should be in my eyes.... completely different. Trying to be it's own thing instead of retelling the same story. |
Re: What was the last movie you watched?
Mr. Peabody & Sherman - again, I have kids.
|

The recent Godzilla. I thought it was alright. I think they got rid of Bryan Cranston way too damn soon. Dude was rocking every scene and then poof, gone. Damnit. Also the fight scenes came off as a little dark near the end, though i'm not sure if that was the film itself or my brother's glaring TV. Either way I enjoyed it and look forward to what they do with the franchise next. |

Re: What was the last movie you watched?
We did a horror marathon with some friends. Watched Tucker & Dale vs Evil, The Cabin in the Woods, and Don't be Afraid of the Dark. The last of which we didn't end up seeing all the way through.
|
Re: What was the last movie you watched?
Cabin in the woods.
It is on 5 demand. Watch for free in Uk for 30 days. But is it good or bad, you decide. |

Watched Godzilla the other day, which is also awesome. |
Re: What was the last movie you watched?
I've started re watching the Alien films again, seeing Aliens yesterday. I love that film. It's pretty cool to see it again and to be able to recognize the roots of a lot of modern video game tropes and themes.

Re: What was the last movie you watched?
I went and watched Fury this past weekend.
I loved it. Very dark and gritty portrayal of WW2. The characters aren't always "nice" either, which I think added to the realism. The sound editing was awesome too. Looking forward to Interstellar now. |
Re: What was the last movie you watched?
Escape From New York !
|
Re: What was the last movie you watched?
The Room.
Yes, that The Room. This is what I do with my life. Why, Lisa, WHY?! |
Re: What was the last movie you watched?
Bay TMNT.
|
Re: What was the last movie you watched?
I had heard of Caligula, how it was a depraved, yet historically accurate, telling of the life of Emperor Caligula featuring a young Malcolm McDowell. It seemed like the sort of thing you'd have to have seen at least once.
What I didn't know is that about half of the film's running time is straight-up hardcore pornography. I can see why people would love, or hate, the film. It has an odd, haunting quality to it. It's one of those films that's hard to shake off after having seen it. I don't know if I would say I enjoyed it, or that it's particularly good. But it's certainly interesting, that's for sure. |
Re: What was the last movie you watched?
Took in Interstellar last weekend.
Excellent film and IMO, one of the best Sci-Fi films in the genre. Opinions seem to be polarizing on this one though, but I thought the movie had a thought provoking message. I also enjoyed the "human survival instinct" theme. Has anyone else seen it? |
Re: What was the last movie you watched?
How to Train Your Dragon 2.
I have kids. :) |
Re: What was the last movie you watched?
I just watched that as well, and I don't have kids.
I watched it because it's a damn good movie. Also, Bonnie and I went and saw Big Hero 6. Which is beyond awesome. |

Re: What was the last movie you watched?
Control, a biopic about Ian Curtis and Joy Division as well as 24 Hour Party People, a documentary (somewhat) about Factory Records and the Hacienda club.

Re: What was the last movie you watched?
Doom. The movie!!!
Rip and tear, guts yeah. Lot's of action. But what happened at the end ?? Don't click if you don't want to be spoiled. Spoiler: |

Spoiler: Awesome movie though. Loved it personally. OT: Alien Nation. James Caan in a buddy cop movie with an alien who gets drunk off bad milk. Rather enjoyed it. |
Re: What was the last movie you watched?
Alien Nation I saw that too Alyxx, it is a good film not great. As it needed more explaining with the milk and water thing.
There was a TV series, have you seen it. Based on the film, with different actors. Had some stories, and lasted afew years. More comedy than drama. |
Re: What was the last movie you watched?
Edge Of Tomorrow, was great.
|
Re: What was the last movie you watched?
Just watched the trailer for "The Interview" on XBL. So it seems that Sony DID release the movie now after all! Surprised to see that it was released on consoles! :) I'm assuming that this was available, obviously, on PSN as well (knowing that it was a SONY made movie, you would clearly think they'd release in on their own console network).

Re: What was the last movie you watched?
Feels like two different movies pushed together.
It's good, but it's not one of Robert's best films. |

Also I got Guardians of the Galaxy DVD for xmas. It is a great film. The story is a bit complicated, if you have not read some of the comics and you won't get the hidden gems. If you think it's bad now, wait till later. There is also some crossover type events happening. With some things I know that will change and evolve. But having all this going on it feels like an ongoing saga. Stay tuned.:dopefish: |
Re: What was the last movie you watched?
Haha, I saw Alien Nation as a kid, finally say it again just a few years ago, I really enjoyed it. Not amazing, but memorable.
Saw "Chronicle" (2012) - wasn't crazy about the found footage style, but it worked. I really enjoyed the movie, mostly because it felt things people would actually go trough if it happened to them. Also; "Blue Ruin" (2013) - just like movies which feel realistic, not over the top action or crazy explosions. Sometimes the most quiet moments are the most effective. The main actor didn't say much, but his facial expressions where great. Id recommend both movies, but of course it's not movies for everyone. |
Re: What was the last movie you watched?
"Flashbacks of a Fool"
Not a particularly good movie. As soon as it's over, most people will say, "What was the point of that?". I read that the writer/director wanted to turn a song (his favorite, I guess) into a film. Not an easy thing to do when the lyrics are somewhat abstract. But if you reconsider the film in those terms, then you have to admit that he succeeded brilliantly. That still doesn't make it a good movie. It does include one incredibly sexy lip-synching scene (of the song in question) by the still somewhat underknown Felicity Jones. Watch this and forget about the rest of the movie: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u7o9Kce8eqs |
